Cycling doesn’t just feel great, it’s great for our health. And by helping to reduce the numbers of cars on the road, it’s great for the environment too. For the air pollution that already exists, trees are the best technology we have for removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere and reversing global warming.
Here at See.Sense we have been working with WeForest since 2014, helping plant trees across the globe. Now, with your support, we want to do more. That's why we are bringing you Bark and Leaf, our new stem caps in this unique campaign.
When you purchase one of them, you are getting more than just a great accessory for your bike, you are planting 3 trees through our partnership with WeForest.
And if you buy two, then we can plant 7 trees.
WeForest wants to plant 25 million trees by 2021, help combat CO2 emissions and poverty, and promote sustainable agriculture in a bid to end hunger.
At See.Sense we want to support them in this vital work.
Bark & Leaf are super easy to fit - though do check online for full instructions. This handy guide from GCN covers the basics. If you are at all unsure, please have a reputable bike shop fit this for you.
WeForest has spread over three continents and 12 countries since it was founded 10 years ago. Since 2009, they have planted nearly 21 million trees to benefit the climate, the environment and humanity. Their focus is to reduce the carbon dioxide content in the atmosphere, and trees remain the best technology to achieve this.
We didn't spend a penny in the creation of this campaign. The above costs are approximate, but give you a good indication of how they are broken down. Our aim is to plant as many trees as possible.
Your stem caps will be dispatched to you in July 2019, and we expect the tree planting to be completed by WeForest before the end of the year.
See.Sense exists to make cycling better, with our award- winning bike lights giving cyclists more visibility on their ride, and cities more information on their roads.
Our lights (which are used by more than 40,000 cyclists across 75 countries) shine brightly both in daylight and at nighttime, and react to moments when a cyclist may be at risk by automatically flashing brighter and faster. They don’t just make a cyclist safer though. They give them a voice.
The technology within them can detect any road issues or poor route conditions that a cyclist faces. Through our mobile app, the cyclist is then able to share these insights anonymously with Planners to help them improve public safety, reduce congestion and lower pollution in cities.
Cycling is one of the most sustainable modes of transport, yet it needs to be safer, more convenient and more enjoyable for everyone. At See.Sense we’re working to improve these areas so that cycling becomes the most appealing way to travel.
Risks and challenges
The main risk around this project is unforeseen postage delays. Having delivered successful Kickstarter campaigns in the past, this certainly isn't our first time doing this. We will provide regular updates to all our backers and be totally transparent in all communications.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
