Time Portal is a cooperative strategy game with a competitive element. It features a mix of individualized character skills, card use, action selection, resource collection, weapons accrual, and battling.
Leave what you know behind to conquer a beast like no other – a machine more powerful and intelligent than any human. Welcome to Time Portal, a land where M.I. has taken control.
Dr. Jiao, a prodigal scientist, comes from a line of scientists ranging back the last century. Through the use of data collection, she was trying to improve the lives of people across the globe when her M.I. turned against her and decided to annihilate the human race. Use the tools Dr. Jiao has provided in your kit to defeat the enemy and save humanity.
Seven heroes have been chosen to leave their times to travel to the future and defeat the Machine Intelligence. Who will you be, the spy, the warrior, the sniper, the historian, the bodyguard, the savior or the knight?
Different rounds are equipped with different attack, effect and mission cards. Decide on your game strategy by leveraging your character’s strategic strengths and the cards you are dealt each hand. But be careful, your co-players may not be aligned with you, and each death in Eras I-III make the Machine Intelligence grow stronger!
The M.I. enters the scene in the Third Era, after you've gotten a head start. But don't be mistaken, he won't be behind at all! The M.I. will have gotten stronger with all prior deaths and will be ready for battle. You do, however, have one advantage over the M.I. Free will!
The M.I. is controlled by Command Coins and does not react to your attacks out of free will, so only you and the players fighting with you have this luxury. Be quick and fight fiercely to slay this beast!
To defeat the M.I., you must travel around the lands of Faltopia, Sintovia and Hemland collecting and battling for resources to trade in for weapons. Each land is composed of regions with bases and resource collection points. Likewise, each land has unique locations within it: Sintovia contains both the Time Portal and the Market, while Faltopia contains the Red Rock Prison. CowBear's Palace is situated in the middle of the lands, and in between each land there is a bay.
Each place carries with it its own inherent risks. Beware of forest fires in Sintovia, boiling hot lava in Faltopia and tornadoes in Hemland. Advance around the board making friends or enemies, but be sure to collect the most Victory Points by the end of the Third Era.
As they fight to save the world, our Heroes gather all resources to aid them in our salvation. Using resources to exchange for gold, it is possible to buy weapons forged by the BullBear Brothers. Upgrades are another threat to the M.I., and each Commander may employ one per weapon.
Commanders, Lieutenants, weapons and upgrade cards, along with personal stats are neatly displayed in each player's Action Board. Action Boards are equipped with appropriate slots for each type of card, and counters for tracking flags (conquered regions) and Action Points.
Our Heroes below comprise your basic teams and will be joined by Soldiers and Collectors created by Dr. Jiao to assist in your mission. Leverage your Commander's and Lieutenants' strengths to advance through the game unscathed.
The hungry BullBear Brothers are war profiteers on a mission to earn a buck. Despite their war-mongering tactics, they are surely good friends to have on your side, as you will need weapons to defend yourself on the long journey ahead.
Gameplay is complex with five phases of play and three eras, but the objective is simple: score the most Victory Points (VP) and slay the M.I.

Risks and challenges
Ample Knight is a huge supporter of Kickstarter projects and has been making the dreams of project creators come to life through personal investment. Our CEO came from the 9-5 life in a financial office and decided to follow a more exciting passion of his. That's when he started designing board games. His first was the First Stock Hero, a game teaching rookies how to understand the stock market and many financial terms. So far, it is available only in Chinese, but we plan to launch in English quickly after Time Portal is launched.
Time Publishing is our publishing subsidiary, an indie-minded company that puts the designer first. Since starting in 2015, we have published another board game and a series of comic books on the stock market. Over the last two years, we have been taking inspiration for our characters from our comic books and even our feature character CowBear.
We are excited to finally release Time Portal. With the help of Kickstarter fans, we are hoping the deluxe pieces get funded to make your gaming experience even more enjoyable!
We oversee the entire process of game creation, and your enjoyment is our number one priority!
Working with production in China and global shipping, our top risks at Ample Knight are delays, and while we place high importance on getting our products out on time, we consider the most important facet of our business to be quality.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
