About this project
Almost 10 years ago, as students at Savannah College of Art and Design we shared a dream of creating our own clothing line that would represent our outgoing, artistic personalities. After SCAD we took divergent but complimentary paths each learning the rigors of the business in New York City: Vanessa in textile/print design at Li & Fung, and Hattie in production at Badgley Mischka. Today we are thrilled to partner and put our dreams into action with the creation of VallarinoSaltonstall.
As a small operation we focus on maintaining ownership of all aspects of our business. We create our own prints, dye our fabrics and sample everything in- house. This allows us to oversee and control all aspects of our designs from start to finish. Our mission is to create wearable art; clothing that is fresh, unique, and multi-functional. We create intimate but powerful products, which reflects form, function, and sustainability.
(Form) We construct beautiful, convertible clothing that transforms into different style needs. The garments are constructed with unconventional tailoring to play off the body’s natural shapes and angles.
(Function) Each garment offers a multitude of options; to be worn right side up, upside down, inside out and backwards creating a look for the right occasion.
(Sustainability) By using exclusively organic materials and eco-friendly manufacturers, we are maintaining our commitment to sustainability.
For our Spring / Summer 2013 collection, we are designing a wardrobe that provides instant versatility for women who want to be exclusive, yet adaptable to everyday life. We are able to maintain fit and balance by using unique tailoring techniques. Our collection reveals the reconfiguring of movement and shapes that play off a woman’s form and accommodates her needs. We are not designing for a one-time event; we are creating a look that will work for a lifestyle.
We are thrilled to share the wonderful news that we have been selected by two prestigious markets to exhibit our work: Premiere (Atlanta) and The Fashion Market Northern California. Your support will help us get to both markets and share our line. We are immensely grateful for your support and incredibly honored to have you join us at VallarinoSaltonstall as we launch our dream into the future.
At the end of this project a survey will be sent with color and size options.
