The Kill Screen is sci-fi/horror/thriller that explores what would happen to our world if it were infected by computer and computer game viruses. How would we all survive?
The critically acclaimed The Kill Screen returns with an all-new cast of characters, as we explore the events that lead up to the event that breaks the world, allowing computer and video game errors to infect mankind.
This Kickstarter is for an all-new 70 page The Kill Screen collection that starts a brand new story. We meet a new cast of characters in the lead up to The Kill Screen - a technological disaster that will devastate the world.
After our critically acclaimed first series we’re returning to Kickstarter to help raise the funds for our second - stand-alone- series, perfect for new or existing readers. We follow a new cast of characters as they deal with the events leading up to The Kill Screen. If you have missed the first comic then our pledge rewards offer the perfect solution to catch up with both digital and physical options!
Both the trade paperback and the PDF versions of our new comic will include the first part of our brand-new series, which in addition to the first 50 pages of story, features a backup story about Nine-Lives the cat, additional artwork from Łukasz Kowalczuk, Chris Imber, and Jim Lavery, and an essay by Dr Shaun Kimber.

Cameo in ENSWBL
We’ve strategically left room for three cameos within the book (for several panels), so you can have your likeness illustrated into the pages of The Kill Screen! Please note we MUST receive your likeness and full consent to be featured within a week of the Kickstarter finishing. Failure to do so may result in missing your cameo - this pledge level is non-refundable. Sorry for the strict rules but we don’t want to risk delaying everyone receiving their copy of the book.
Feature in ENSWBL 2
Be a character in part two! You’ll have dialogue and be featured in a minimum of five pages. Please note we MUST receive your likeness and full consent to be featured within a three weeks of the Kickstarter finishing. Failure to do so may result in missing your cameo - this pledge level is non-refundable.
Our Previous series
Our previous series followed a small group of survivors as they battled against the red and the blue teams, as well as a group of religious digital cultists. The comic explored our relationship with technology (as well as our reliance on it) and features many nods to internet culture and games, which should delight fans and detractors of technology equally!
Despite The Kill Screen's dystopian/survivalist narrative it also features plenty of humour and, obviously, a hell of a lot of cats...
We're expecting our first few reviews to land within the next few days - until then, here's just a sample of the original Kill Screen's reviews.
The Funding Goal
Thanks to the success of our previous Kickstarters, our Patreon, con sales, store and online sales, we're not looking to raise all the funds - however, the more support we get at this stage the more we can try and improve on the book itself with all funds over our target going to improve the production level on the comic.
Risks and challenges
All pages of artwork - bar the two we've purposely left for Likenesses - are finished! We're just putting the finishing touches on the book. We've both successfully completed several Kickstarters so we're confident that we're experienced enough not to run into any issues with this Kickstarter.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
