The more you pledge the more amazing the cast can be! We've been speaking to a number of RuPaul's Drag Race Alum's and at this stage, its all about the funding, baby! Who would you like to see on the big screen?
Tell us who YOU want to see in the film!
Gag on My Ray Gun is a full-length, Sci-fi feature film about Drag Queens defending the galaxy from an evil pageant queen hell-bent on eradicating trashy and cheap drag from the Trans-Galactic Alliance.
This film was developed because of a distinct lack of genre based movies with positive representations of LGBTQ+ people and their culture. This is especially apparent in modern Science Fiction. The goal of this film is to allow LGBTQ+ people the chance to enjoy an action-packed adventure film that is 100% queer oriented in its content!
The royal families realised they could not carry on this way. Together, each of the planets gathered on K-Mars, the planet of the trash queens, and signed The Accord: a set of rules defining the fundamental rights of all queens. The first and most important rule of the accord is that no member of any royal family may wear designer clothing of any kind. It was the only way to ensure the unity of the drag planets and end the class warfare.
Queen Alota Sunshine is played by the ravishing Barbie Jo Bontemps
Barbie Jo Bontemps, or BJ if you're nasty, started drag as a Halloween whim 5 years ago and has since grown into a respected community member, volunteer and performer in the Church and Wellesley village. Known also as Mama MoJo, Barbie has been hosting and MCing FML Mondays, by MoJo Toronto, a party that provides entertainment but also gives back to the community. "The best part about being an entertainer is getting watch people react and smile at something that also makes you smile inside"
The leader of the Space Pirates, Sugar, is played by Rachel Ayesha Ying.
Rachel AKA Ayesha Rye is an artist, tattooer and pole dancer. She started dancing 5 years ago and competed in her first pole dancing competition in April where she placed 2nd in her division. She performs pole at Oasis Aqualounge for their Bathouse and Bodyworks event, where she brings a dark and sensual vibe to the room. She loves and appreciates drag as an art form.
Bertha is played by the majestic Allysin Chaynes.
Having narrowly escaped Salem in 1693, Allysin Chaynes decided to retire her more arcane witchy ways and practice a more spooky kind of magic in the heart of Toronto’s lgbtq community. Using the enchanting powers of drag, makeup, and her “allegedly,” long tongue, she’s ensnared the hearts, minds, and buttholes of countless souls. Allegedly. Being a young queen of just a few hundred years, (she doesn’t look a day over 23), she’s already on the path to damnation, stompin’ heel. She is also a quintessential and founding member of Toronto’s House of Filth: an alternative, queer, transgressive troupe of drag abominations whose mission is to spook the children and inspire minds to combat the status quo. Allegedly.
Princess Arraya is played by the sensational Juice Boxx
The always sensational Juice Boxx has been working in Toronto as a Drag Queen and Hostess for over 3 years. Spending a majority of her time in the Village, Juice Boxx is a frequent and featured performer at such fine establishments as Crews and Tangos, and the ever popular Woodys. Her aesthetic is bright, bubbly sinful and sexy, with a little spice. Always one to light up a room, Juice Boxx is a great addition to any event that needs an infusion of fun!
Brad, General of the Royal Guard and The romantic interest of Princess Arraya Sunshine is played by Dimitri Sarkarove
This part is played by Dimitri Sarkarove. Dimitri was first conceived by his parents in the neo-gothic cliff-side château called ‘The Swallow’s Nest’ (“Ласточкино гнездо”), near Crimea, Ukraine. Nine months later, he was born, during a strange city-wide power outage of Odessa, on Feb. 13th, 1989. Being near the end of the Soviet era, and the country in chaotic poverty, his parents Oleg and Svetlana, with four year old Dimitri, immigrated to Montreal, Canada. Dimitri’s life had always been magnetic towards all things romantic, cinematic, and artistic. As opposed to playing sports, he preferred watching old classic movies at home, or going to the movies with his best friend.
Lola: A somewhat trashy, opinionated and short drag queen. Lola did not get an appearance in the Teaser, it seemed like too many characters for 2 minutes. That being said, she happens to be my favourite. She is a sassy, low class party girl. She hails from the planet K-Mars, world of Trash Drag. She may seem whiny but she packs a punch.
Davenport Dupree Davenport: The leading antagonist of the film, the Evil Pageant Queen: Davenport Dupree Davenport, is full of malice. Davenport Dupree Davenport is played, in the teaser, by Allysin Chaynes, but we have a world-renowned queen in mind for the feature.
Remember that these are only the primary rewards for each goal. The real prize is how much this will improve the final film. That and ensuring this film is made by the creator and not a larger company that may try to change the concept.
$20,000: At this level I will reveal the Drag Queen who will be playing Davenport Dupree Davenport in the feature film and, let me just say, its gonna blow your mind!
$30,000: At this level we will reveal the lovely lady who will be playing the leader of the Alliance.
$40,000: At this level I will reveal who will be playing Lola, the trashy queen from K-Mars.
More interviews with the queens are coming soon! Stay posted!

Risks and challenges
It would be great to make enough from this campaign to be able to make the film without outside involvement but that would take a lot of money. So, the funding goal is not likely to be the only funding we will need to get. To make a movie like this we would need at least $200,000.00 in order to get well known drag queens and other LBGTQ + pop stars in the film and to provide the production quality needed to make a really great movie. 3D models and animators don't come cheap. The closer we get to that larger goal, the more control the creator will have over the final product. If we end up having to take on a large investment, then that investor will be able to influence the project and possibly move it away from its intended purpose. Hopefully, though, that will not be a problem. My goal is to get a company involved that has already had its hand in other LBGTQ + features and come out successfully. We all know who we would like to get involved and the more we raise the more likely we are to get one of these production companies involved. This is our time to show that we, as an audience, want to see more representation of LBGTQ+ people in film, and not only as sidekicks or minor players. And not only films exclusively about romance. There are universes of genre out there that have barely been touched and its time we get ourselves elbow deep in all of it. That is why gag on my ray gun is important. It’s more than just about us being represented in more films, but having more films that represent us.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
