The Vitruvian Man is a world-renowned drawing created by Leonardo da Vinci circa 1487. It is stored in the Gallerie dell'Accademia in Venice, Italy.
So why the old drawing? Why are we using Leonardo da Vinci?
We wanted to make something that was fun and had a little history involved. Not so much you were worried about a pop quiz later, but enough that it might stick with you. Also, the game is about the math of the body in motion, the art of form and its relationship with the world around us.... And the guy you are trying to stick with a sword...
We could not think of anybody we would rather pay homage to, the image is public domain, but we still want to pay attention and respect to one of the people that inspired us. Yes I know we say this every time, but the guy was seriously awesome, it is only honest to pay homage each time...
This is our fourth deck, and one we have been looking forward to doing…
We are still very proud of our successful Kickstarters, English Longsword, French Rapier and Scottish Claymore! We are still just a little gaming company run out of our house, but it is a real joy to share gaming ideas & creative Geekery with all our fellow gamers out there. So thanks for letting us fulfill a dream! I will try to keep this short so we can get on with our lives, so here we go!
A Blast from the past!
for those of you looking to see gameplay watch a video of a us play the original game from the first kickstarter. it will show you how easy the gameplay is!

What is different with the new deck?
The system is the same, the rules are the same, but the style of fighting with the Japanese Katana is an art form. We are spending time with an Iaido dojo so that we are not just “making a guess” at the form and technique. We can not show the true depth and nature of any martial styling in a card game, but we can show respect while translating what we can.
So the new deck beats the old decks, right?
Sometimes, if you play it right. We have tested all decks in many variations, they both have the same chance to win. Again its all how you figure out your opponent. Each deck has strengths and weaknesses. This is a really big sharp object, but it moves a little slower then the previous weapons. So more planning and a lot more hoping your opponent stands still.
Can I mix the new deck with the old ones?
There are rules for carrying more than one weapon to the fight. It is very simple to switch weapons, but also very dangerous. Just like real dueling. That is something that will be easily explained in an update. Can you bring more than one weapon to a fight, and switch, yes, can you use them at the SAME time, no. Not yet anyway.
We have new artists, and we are really proud of their work!
We have been proud of every artist that has worked on our previous decks, and it has given us the excuse to work with a lot of amazing talent.
The artist for our two starting heroes and one of our special cards is Taylor Fischer, an amazing artist who helped us get this kickstarter in motion and we hope to have more work in the future from her. Give her a look!
We looked around to find another great artist and we found a few great ones. The artist that will be taking care of us on this Noble illustration and playmat illustration is the talented and outstanding William O’Brien! We really are pumped! You have to check out his work! I can not say enough about it!
We have a new member of the creative team and she is a genius. She has given us a great price on composing music, so we are going with a Theme song for each noble and hero! If you pledge at the $50.00 or more pledge you get a copy of it! It will be about 2 minutes long and each noble or hero will get to input the kind of direction they wish it to go. She does not disappoint! We will put a music link up soon!
A Magical Companion!
Hey that Fairy Companion Card, she looks familiar?
Yes! This year we have the honor of officially working with Yaya Han! It was for our Lexicons of Dueling Sidhe court LARP. Her Absinthe Fairy Cosplay was amazing and we made arrangements to have an illustration done for her of it. She has allowed us to share this card with our Kickstarters! It is a very cool companion card! She was a super great person to work with and we recommend supporting her directly in any way! Every $25 and up Pledge gets a copy!
If only there was a playmat choice to go with the card!
As you wish...a limit piece we had done for her by a most excellent artist
New hero cards and Companion cards?
We continue to add some cards that you can play pickup games or adventures. Heroes take the place of status cards when played as a single (like a Noble for those honored few). Companions can be played as an additional character to accompany a hero or status card in pickup games. We will be posting more samples soon! We will have more art up soon! New Mat? Art to follow! It will be amazing as always!
Stretch Goals the first few!
You got it! At one dollar over our goal every pledge of $25 or more gets the choice of 1 deck from our Rapier or Claymore sets (sorry we are too low inventory to make a promise for the longsword), or if you just in the mood 1 more Katana Deck! After that, if you would Like to purchase further decks they will be $15 each, with no extra shipping charges!
Playmats can be purchased as an add on! Only $25! Picture above is for position only, the final will be super amazing!
Every Pledge from $25 and up now gets the theme CD for free! You can play to the sound of the Samurai Pavilion and Hero Pledges.
What does the playmat look like?
We are working with Will O'brien to make a really cool one of our hero in battle, but it is a new illustration and I would rather awesome then rushed. I am proud to say our playmats have never disappointed. So we beg your patience and trust on this one. But until then, one of the options will be:
I looked, this kickstarter is a higher cost then the last one?
We have tweaked and pinched to keep the price low and the rewards high. We put everything we can in to each pledge, so we promise you a great reward. We put what we get from you into what we send. Some costs went up that is all. We really are proud of what we have to offer for the cost. We have gotten a lot of feedback and our previous pledges have been quite happy.
Thanks for looking, we appreciate your interest.
Your money too, that would help.

Risks and challenges
We are happy to say we have made a quality game each time and can repeat that again with confidence.
We were a little late on last fulfillment, (only a month or so) but it all went out and we added extra for being late to each supporter as an apology. Just being honest. You deserve that.
We priced our game reasonably. So even the top Pledges are within reach of our supporters.
We are a tiny company, but we deliver a great game.
