Who We Are
Inland Empire Museum of Art is a vibrant local as well as regional museum, with a market audience of 2.8 million individuals within a 20 mile radius, located in the Southern California area.
Along with our larger collection of art, we are proud to present, at our premier exhibit, our young eyes gallery. A selection of more whimsical pieces, intended to be an introduction not only to children, but to those young at heart. The goal of this space is to acquaint viewers to various kinds of art and be an inspiration for creativity.
About This Project
We are a passionate team of artists, professionals, and community members that have come together to support the Inland Empire Museum of Art’s premier exhibit - Contemporary Art from California’s Inland Empire & Beyond. The exhibit will take place April 11 through May 3 at the Millard Sheets Art Center at the Pomona Fairplex, Pomona, California, with an opening reception on Sunday April 12 from 2:30pm – 5:00pm.
We are raising funds to host an exhibit in April that will present our entire collection to the general public for the first time. We are looking for funds to cover the marketing, installation and the opening costs.
The following is a break down of our financial needs:
- ·Framing and matting of 32 pieces of art - $3800.00
- ·Marketing and mailing - $1500.00
- ·Printing of text panels for art - $500.00
- Delivery of premiums - $250.00
Our goal of $6050 plus approximately 10% for Kickstarter fees, makes the total we are asking for $6650.00.
This February marks the second anniversary of the founding of the museum. We have been collecting art and connecting with artists for the past two years, and have acquired over 180 pieces of art (with more than 40 more promised!) from 125 artists – including Millard Sheets, Milford Zornes, Mary Ellen Mark and many others.
The collection represents prominent artists in the Inland Empire and beyond, from the mid 1900's to the present. Due to the generosity of artists and individuals and their belief in IEMA, the collection continues to grow.
The Vision For IEMA
Our vision is to foster and to promote the study, appreciation and understanding of art through exhibits and education – our Young eyes gallery is an introduction to art for those children as well as those young at heart, in the Inland Empire area of Southern California.

Risks and challenges
As the first event for the Inland Empire Museum of Art, it is important to show the public and those that support us the art that we have acquired. If Kickstarter does not generate the funds to cover the costs for framing, we will not be able to show our entire collection. Also, some of the amenities for the exhibit may not be realized. We want this to be this a great opening for everyone!
With help from those of you on Kickstarter, we are confident we can overcome these challenges and make our first public exhibit a great success!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
