In August 2010 The Bent Quill Players were proud to present their first production, Susanna Centlivre’s The Busybody in Fort Tryon Park. This April, the company hopes to continue its mission of bringing classical texts to the community with its production of Moliere’s A Doctor in Spite of Himself directed by Eli Thacker Taylor and performed by a cast of 12 outdoors in Brooklyn, NY.
As with last August’s show, all performances of A Doctor in Spite of Himself will be free and open to the public!
THE PLAY Sganarelle is a humble woodcutter. When a chance meeting gives him the opportunity he becomes the most revered (and richest) doctor in the area. Mistaken identity, situational disaster, and outright hilarity ensue.
FUNDING Your donation will help pay for rehearsal space, sets, costumes, props, programs, flyers, scripts, rights, copies and other production expenses.
