We are the StillHouse Junkies, born from late evening picks at the local distillery in Durango, Colorado. We united through our love for music, a shared passion that is driving us to take creative leaps and bounds together and bring something brand-new and positive to the world. Thank you for taking a few minutes to support our project, “Over The Pass.”
This full-length album will be the StillHouse Junkies' debut record with 12 original, tightly arranged songs we simply cannot wait to share. It has been a huge growth experience for all of us and we are fortunate to live in an incredible community with deep ongoing support from friends and family. Many of the rewards you’ll see listed in our Kickstarter are tied into fellow local artists, so you will not only be helping us, but also be supporting the likes of renowned ceramicist Lorna Meaden and graphic designer and artist Tim Kapustka.
Our goal is not only to bring joy to your ears and tell you stories with our songs, but to demonstrate how much love and gratitude we have for the people who have supported us along the way: local photographer McCarson Jones, sound engineers Scott “Scooter” Smith and Jeff Jones, and Durango Craft Spirits owners/proprietors Michael McCardell & Amy Smith-McCardell. In March, we will enter the recording studio for six days and pour our hearts into this album for YOU with all the love, energy, and passion we possess. We would be honored if you join us as we travel over the pass to reach our goal!
Check out more of Lorna's incredible work here.
And a look at Tim Kapustka's work to give you an idea of his style. Junkies shirts and posters will bear an original design of his creation (TBD).
Risks and challenges
No band is an island. Artists and groups that are successful in their fundraising efforts rely on the contributions of friends, family, fans, and far-flung well-wishers who believe that the arts are a vital institution that need our collective support to survive. Our greatest challenge in launching a Kickstarter campaign is the risk that we aren't able to meet our funding goal and have to start again from square one after months of preparation, a reality which we hope will motivate our backers to see us through this process to the end!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
