From Cingomma to YouTattoo, tattooed emotions
Drawings, colours, words. They are like thoughts on the skin: born with you, to be remembered. YouTattoo is a limited set of custom belts designed for you.
They are eco-friendly, hand-made in Italy, from old bicycle tires. At the beginning, they were called Cingomma. Today, for the first time, they are "tattooed" with the water transfer printing technique, becoming YouTattoo.
A tattoo is a mark of the soul, a piece of life to wear on the skin. We replicate it for the first time on a belt, so that it can be shown and can talk about you, your way of being and thinking. To distinguish you!
This belt is a story. Unique, like yours.
Every YouTattoo tells your feelings, your passions, your dreams. They are imprinted in water by a thin film, thanks to the innovative water transfer printing technology.
Unrepeatable, just for you.
Each belt is special, unrepeatable. Before it became a belt, it travelled miles. It travelled on a clean and light vehicle, the bicycle. Now its tread is worn-out, it has lived a lot: on its skin it brings signs of landscapes and passions, happiness, encounters. It's a story to wear, which becomes a memory. Just like yours.
YouTattoo, the first in the world.
We are the first in the world today to propose the revolutionary water transfer technique for a sustainable belt. Once treated, our YouTattoos are immersed in a skin suspended on the water. An extraordinary "tattoo" on the belt is realized, very colorful.
Features - Create your own custom YouTattoo
YouTattoo is a story to wear, to be gifted. If the project will reach the goal, you’ll be able to choose your personal tattoo for the belt. It will be a unique and inimitable piece, like an artwork.
The belt is 110 cm (43,2 inches) long to the central hole, out of five. The buckle is manufactured using a high quality metal based material, made in Italy. The whole product is made to last long time.
YouTattoo is easily adjustable to your own size. You can do it whenever you want, at home, in the backyard, in your garage and even in the office. It’s all very simple, you just need to use a screwdriver and a scissor!
You have not to ruin the belt making additional holes, you don't need it! We worked a lot in the design phase in order to have a beautiful product that lasts for a long time.
In order to give a chance to who will not read this part of the campaign (hopefully few), in the packaging there will be also instruction for dummies :).
Rewards and Add-Ons
Circular Economy and Environment
We strongly believe in the Circular Economy, a change of paradigm for the future of the Planet and the Society. Here in Recrea Design we have a true sense of sustainability and innovation at the same time.
We believe in a Circular Economy, which decouples the economic development from the exploitation of the natural resources. Today's linear ‘take, make, dispose’ economic model relies on large quantities of cheap, easily accessible materials and energy, but is a model that is reaching its physical limits mostly since the population boom and the prices volatility.
A circular economy is an attractive and viable alternative. We reuse old tyres to create accessories that will last (almost) forever, to foster a sustainable future for human being.
1% for Positive Causes
We pledge to donate 1% of our revenue (gross revenue, not just profit) for Positive Causes. Each belt is a positive cause: it helps to improve the Planet by reducing waste. Part of the proceeds is intended to support social projects, environmental education and promotion of clean vehicles such as bicycles.
Please note that per Kickstarter guidelines, we cannot use this crowdfunding project to raise funds for charity. We will certainly support our beneficiary orgs outside of Kickstarter, and celebrate this commitment with our backer community.
Here I am, Maurizio.
I am an Italian artisan. I live and work in Turin. I've seen the world become dirty. As many of you, I would like a cleaner and more beautiful world. So, we need to join forces and be so many if we want to achieve this goal. That's why I created the first Cingomma belt.
Recrea Design Team
Recrea Design is a small community of young Italian artisans. We belong to this alliance. We got together with love and respect to help the world smile more.
Our products were old bicycle tires, taken out of the dump. Now they are the Cingomma belts and, if you like, YouTattoo.
Why Kickstarter ?
We need your help to start the production phase. We completed the prototyping phase and we have now a finished product that needs some boost to become more real. Moreover, we want to know if people like the idea of upcycled and tattooed belts before we start producing them from limited materials and avoid waste.
So, this campaign is about experimentation and collaboration. We couldn’t think of a better place to connect with the community and get this innovative product off the ground together!
Thank you for your support !
We can't say it enough. Thank you for believing in us. We can't wait to get these new products in your hands.
Risks and challenges
This is the first Recrea Design project on Kickstarter, but it is not the first of its kind. We started to produce and sell succesfully upcycled belts (called Cingomma) since 2011, locally, in Italy first.
We are experienced craftsmen and we need your help to develop this innovative product, the first of its kind in the world. We've got the first prototypes and we are ready to produce YouTattoo Series, always certifying the maximum transparency and quality of the process.
In short, we know what we're doing, and you should be very confident that we will deliver what we say we will, when we say we will. And we solemnly swear that should unforeseen issues come up, we will handle them with the utmost transparency and care for you, our backers.
Having said that, there is always a small chance that unforeseen complications could arise and cause delays to one of our batches. If this happens, we will certainly be transparent and provide you with an updated delivery schedule. We've also been blindsided more than once by completely unexpected issues and always dealt with them in a way that leaves every last customer happy with their purchase and proud to support our company.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
