Amazing Results, Amazing Kickstarter Backers: Thanks

Posted by David Borden (Creator)

Did I mention that you're amazing?

I am so pleased to announce that we met our funding goal with 23 days left to go! I have to admit that when I started this Kickstarter, I had a moment of hesitation and self doubt. Maybe no one would want a book about this subject. I've never seen anything like it in the stores. Maybe it only appeals to a market so small and niche that the Kickstarter will wither. As Savannah's neurologist said when I asked her for a prognosis so long ago, "We don't know how long she'll live or what she'll be capable of. Children like her didn't live past infancy a generation ago." In other words, there just aren't many children like her... ain't that the truth.

This is the road less traveled.

You are helping to bring this story to the world. And it's about so much more than disability. One beta reader said that this story echoed much of her experience caring for her dying father. Another said it should have broad appeal because it's really about family and love.

What ever appeal it has for you, thank you for your generosity and belief. But just because it is funded doesn't mean we can't reach for our stretch goals outlined on my Kickstarter page. The next one supports the website and promotion. If I get to $3000, I can pay to properly outfit my Austin Comic Con booth with signage, swag, and comics (already reserved, thank you very much), and $5000 will allow me to send free copies of the book to as many hospital chaplains across the country as I can for use with families going through similar trauma.

Please share this project widely. The more people who hear about it from people they trust (you), the better odds we'll have of reaching those stretch goals. I'll get back to you with special stretch goal rewards that will go to everyone. If you pledged at the $15 level or higher (I'll slip something extra into your shipment). For my Pretty Darn Fantastic pledgers, I'll figure out what surprise I can send you electronically.
