Hi Justin, is the full version of PP playable on DK1/DK2?

    2. Roller Disco Dinosaur 64 on September 2, 2014

This is the main reason why most successful Kickstarter games use retro 8-bit & 16-bit graphics... It reduces cost and time to complete substantially! The big budget Kickstarter games usually have the hardest time delivering so i'm willing to bet that was one of the main issues. Maybe the game needs to be scaled down a bit? You could include episodic DLC to boost sales after the game launches.

    3. Krixus Parabellum on August 30, 2014

Just donated on the new website, but seriously, 198.000$ AGAIN?
This was the reason the ks funding failed: people want to invest in something they feel has *a little chance* of succeding! Most people will assume the funding will fail when they see 200K, so they don't invest, the process repeats with other visitors, and in the end the funding fails.
I hope this time it will succeed, this demo was amazing. I'm just a little sad to see the same mistake being made

I'm very sad this didn't make it and I seriously hope you don't give up. This was one of my favorite VR demos for the OR and I seriously want more.
I think the problem is there aren't enough VR HMD owners out there to pull off the funding goal yet. It's an amazing game even in the 2D version. I played it several times before I got my OR that way.
Seriously, this is too good to give up on. I'll definitely be there to fund if you try again. This is too good to let die. Good work and good luck!

    5. Nicholas Kramer on August 23, 2014

      Boo funding!
I'll definitely repledge for the full game if you relaunch, or buy it out of pocket if you don't go the kickstarter route.

    6. Fred T Wood on August 23, 2014

I really hope that you'll reconsider the scope of your project and relaunch soon. The demo I played on the DK2 was phenomenal, and I want more.

    7. Katelyn McGill on August 23, 2014

I'm sorry you didn't reach your goal, but don't lose heart! Many people think your game sounds awesome and hopefully you will be able to release your game later. Don't give up!

    8. Roxana Hasanat on August 23, 2014

Hey, keep developing this! It sounds cool!

    9. Richard Lee on August 23, 2014

I'm also sorry you didn't reach your goal. But your game does look amazing. Maybe once the consumer version of the rift takes off you may have more of a market ready to play your game. I hope you continue to develop it. Good luck

    10. Daniel on August 23, 2014

I agree. Is there a plan B? Perhaps redo it from a non-VR perspective with VR as bonus? That way it will bring in those gamers too?

Really really sorry to see that your project did not reach the goal. I hope you have a plan B to finish this great game.

    12. GadgetTR on August 23, 2014

So sad this didn't reach its goal! ): I hope you can still salvage this project; I really want to see this get completed!

    13. John Eberli on August 23, 2014

Really sorry this did not reach its goal. Please do not give up as the demo alone is so polished. My suggestion would be to try again when the Rift has a little more exposure and perhaps lower the funding goal as it seemed a little overly ambitious. Please, whatever you do, don't scrap this project. It is one of the more innovative and professional looking demos VR has seen so far. :)

    14. Lord Jason Mackay on August 23, 2014

Gobsmacked this didn't make funding, what a great polished game, crazy it didn't get more support. Try again guys, please!!!

    15. Shawn MacDonell on August 23, 2014

Sorry you didn't make the funding goal, I was really hoping this would make it since it was simply just an amazing VR experience on the DK2 that anyone could enjoy. Is there any way we can give our support this project?

I really hope you guys' keep looking forward, and keep the development going on Vanguard. Never give up!

    16. Adam Rose on August 23, 2014

Is there a way I can help this project since it wasn't funded?

    17. Jonothon Sands on August 23, 2014

Sorry you didn't make your goal, The game is really awesome one of the best vr experiences I have played.

    18. Joey Triska on August 23, 2014

Sorry about not making your funding goal! We really need to see a quality rails shooter like this on the Rift! Keep making magic happen!

It's a shame this didn't made it, one of the best VR experiences out there. Probably not enough DK2 s delivered yet. Hope the project will still find its course.

    22. Roller Disco Dinosaur 64 on August 21, 2014

Sweet music and visuals! Can i get this for my N64 please? =D

    23. Krixus Parabellum on August 19, 2014

      Hi justin
When I launch the demo on my DK2, the red green and blue colors are each completely separated, i cant see anything (and the HT doesnt work)
Has there been a new version maybe, or could I be doing something wrong?
      Thanks in advance

    24. Mateusz Pawluczuk on August 17, 2014

Justin, this game is briliant - you have embraced VR the way it is meant to be embraced :) Music is just perfect, design decisions are also spot on. To me you're a true visionarie - you know exactly what VR is supposed to be about.

    26. Sam Beckett on August 16, 2014

Did you make a PROTON PULSE DK2 demo? if so, link please :)

    27. Justin Moravetz Creator on August 16, 2014

      @Daniel:

      Power ups planed:
      More than six shots
      Faster lasers
      Faster auto launch
      Splash damage radius
      Crazy missile barrage
And the main cannons haven't been revealed yet ;)
Lots if stuff in the pipeline.

There are a vast number of enemy types coming as well. Level one featured the basic parasite that has one core. Here is an example of an enemy in lvl2 The flying water serpents in level 2 run in and out of the water into the sky. Lock on all the cores to take it down! You can see some information on the last update in the video.

    28. Daniel on August 15, 2014

I apologize if this have been mentioned before, but are there going to be powerups? other weapons? enemies? how far are you in development? thanks!

    29. Shawn MacDonell on August 14, 2014

I absolutely loved the demo of your game! Music, gameplay, everything. It was by far the best experience I've had on my DK1 (and DK2 soon!).

I really hope this gets funded in the end. It's always great to see VR game titles to show up, and deliver an amazing one-of-a-kind experience.

VR is the future, and I hope this game can make it into that future on the Rift and Morpheus.

    30. Bart Grudzien on August 14, 2014

      Game looks cool.
I made a pledge, how do I get the demo?

    31. Joseph on August 14, 2014

Oh, I forgot to mention about Radial-G, another VR title that could not reach their funding goal. They had quite a lot of external attention, but not too much attention in Kickstarter. Even though their demo was downloaded nearly 3,500 times from Oculus Share, they had only 978 backers (including Palmer Luckey). Hopefully these current VR titles got a couple of days more, so spread the word and let’s make these projects happen ;)

    32. Joseph on August 14, 2014

What’s up with the VR community these days? There are few VR games available in Kickstarter rightnow with very interesting content and with very promising ideas which might define VR gaming in the future. However, they are not receiving all the attention/support they deserve.
These are some VR games I found interesting:
Kona: Kona’s atmospheric demo will take your breath away. It successfully immersed me in the middle of a snow storm somewhere in Alaska. Demo available!
Albino Lullaby: This is not the typical horror game. It takes you into a freak-magic world. Demo will be available at the end of the campaign (37 days).
The Hum: If you love horror films about alien invasion, then this game will fulfill your dirtiest extraterrestrial fantasies. Demo is not available yet.
There are a few other games that also look very promising, however I haven’t considered them because they need to reach a certain stretch-goal in order to become VR compatible (Archaic and Marooned Arcanus Island). So once again, please reconsider taking a look into those games, if you haven’t, and help to extend the list of VR games available in Steam :)

I want to be optimistic about this. I really want to see this get funded.

However, in the event that it does not, I don't think it should simply be abandoned. Just shelve it for a bit and come back to it once the CV of the Oculus and PS4 VR are released.

My advice in the unfortunate event of not meeting the goal is to work on smaller projects until the market opens up and there are enough users to meet this kind of funding goal.

There is still hope as there are still 9 days left of course. Don't give up either way though, just delay for a bit.

I'm almost certain it's time for VR to make it. There are a lot of talented people behind it, the technology is to the level that it works as it should, it's being developed for like never before, and there's a lot more that can be done with it beyond games. Once the CV of these things hit it's going to change the world. The Dev Kit 2 is already amazing.

I really hope this can be there when the CV hits on launch day, but if not it deserves another shot down the line. I think the biggest hurdle this project has is that there just may not be enough users out there yet.

    34. Greg Foster on August 13, 2014

Will 10 days be enough ??? Theres got to be a way to fully fund this awesome project. I don't want to see this fail!!!!!

    35. Justin Moravetz Creator on August 12, 2014

I'm hoping to reach out. Games that don't require a controller to play can be great for those who can't use a controller.

    36. Wes Jurica on August 12, 2014

Daniel, I think it was important for them to try this with VR only to see if there is a big enough market there yet. If this game can't get the funding as a VR only title, than what could?

    37. Daniel on August 12, 2014

@Creators Unfortunately, the VR crowd is still a niche market. IMO, you're doing a disservice to the game by not bringing it to the non-vr crowd.

    38. Greg Foster on August 12, 2014

      Only 10 days left!!!!!!!!!! :(

    39. Coeurl on August 12, 2014

The Demo is by far the best experience right now on the DK2 (only Rift I have). I love the genius of the intro (explanation of third person view, reflection of the eyes in the visor, etc). The game looks and feels great. It looks like it might be difficult to meet the pledge goal, but I would definitely love to see this become a full-fledged game. This is the kind of game the Rift needs, it's perfectly designed to make the best use of it.

    40. Wes Jurica on August 11, 2014

I agree will Greg, Rick and everyone else. Everything else out there right now still feels like they are in the experimental phase. This feels polished and ready to ship. Very cool. You need to ship the DK2 and a copy of your game to some of the major game news sites if that's what it takes to get their attention. People need to know about this.

      Contrabardus on August 11, 2014

This is amazing, the demo sold me on the game in about 2 seconds. The music does a lot to enhance the experience and the demo is polished enough that it could be a level of a finished game. Kudos.
My only worry is that it may be too soon for a VR project with such a high pledge goal. I don't know if there are enough early adopters like myself to pull off almost $200k.
I'm hopeful that there are and I did what I could to support the project. I have encouraged others to do so as well. This deserves to get funded. VR needs content like this if it's going to make it.

      Rick on August 11, 2014

I get the feeling that this VR game is totally overlooked. It's so strange that people just don't seem to be interested to try it, while it's probably the best full VR game demo experience out there.

    43. Justin Moravetz Creator on August 10, 2014

@Greg me too. I have more amazing news coming very soon if I can manage to wrap up these builds.
