We have the great honour of introducing a delegation of 8 halflings who hope to attend the High Council of Mages in Midlam at the behest of the High Wizard of Midlam. They do however require a little help on their journey... and that's where you come in.
Midlam Miniatures is hoping to make 8 halfling wizards and apprentices (an equal mix of male and female) sculpted by Martin Baker, which will be suitable for both learned and novice magic users in your fantasy games or for collectors of fantasy miniatures.
The halflings are of various heights due to hats etc, but all have an eye-line of approximately 18-20mm.
STRETCH GOAL ACHIEVED! STRETCH GOAL UNLOCKED!
Thanks to your unwavering support of the magical arts, we are pleased to say that Nigella Lawless, Halfling Sorceress will be making her way to Midlam to create havoc and ruin, in the nicest way possible.
Anyone who has backed the Merry Mob or Merry Mob and Town Council pledge levels, will receive an extra metal model of Nigella Lawless, halfling sorceress, for free!
Thank you for your continued support!
STRETCH GOAL - Female Halfling sorceress at £6000
The female halfling sorceress, Nigella Lawless, was recently excluded from the Halfling Magical Council for her unorthodox methods.
Should we hit £6000, backers of the Merry Mob or Merry Mob and Town Council pledge levels, will receive an extra metal model of Nigella Lawless, halfling sorceress, for free!
You may choose to select some of the best and bravest of the halflings to accompany them, by selecting our existing halfling Town Council pack as an additional reward. Miniatures will be supplied unpainted and unbased.
This is our second Kickstarter, after our very successful Wizard's Apprentice Kickstarter, and we are using this project to expand our existing ranges of 28mm scale halflings and magic users.
This Kickstarter will allow us to fund master and production moulds for these figures and make them available for release much sooner than we would otherwise be able to.
Getting this project funded will not only help us get these figures made, but will also help us plan and create future ranges and expansions. We are also happy to receive suggestions on what to make next.
PLEASE NOTE: The miniatures are cast in a high quality pewter, with a high Tin content, but may contain a small quantity of lead. They are not toys, and are not suitable for children. We regrettably do not have the ability to produce resin miniatures.
All miniatures are supplied unpainted.
All images and miniatures are ©2016 Midlam Miniatures.
Risks and challenges
Risks are low, as the sculpts have already been produced (see pictures) and are now only awaiting master and production moulds.
There is always a small chance that a master sculpt may be destroyed in the master mould making process and/or the figure does not cast properly. In these unlikely circumstances we would get a new sculpt by the original sculptor, matching the original as closely as possible, with whatever modifications are necessary for the miniatures to cast correctly. Should this happen, the estimated release date of January 2016 for all miniatures could be pushed back by a month or two until any problem was fixed.
We will keep people updated at all stages of production to let them know how the manufacturing is going.
