Budget $ This! An inexpensive, fun, budgeting game
Put down the electronics and get back to the basics with this kid tested, succssfully fun game designed to teach without them knowing.
Against my better judgment, my children started becoming 'techno kids', always playing some sort of electronic. It was getting very expensive and they were getting very lazy. The children had no concept of money, always wanting the newest gaming system or game that came out on the market and NOT understanding that we couldn't always afford it. So I decided to put my creative mind to work. I designed a game that doesn't use any type of electronics and played it once with them. It was a big hit and they play it almost every night, spending time together and learning math skills, money skills and financial responsibility all without knowing.
The children have made the Budget $ This!! game better by playing different variations, which we have incorporated into the game, who better to take advice from than from the people playing it?
The Budget $ This!! game will be affordably priced so that all children will be able to play. We are not looking to become rich by making and marketing this game, we are wanting to help build a stronger tomorrow by teaching the children of today how to play together and work together and if they accidentally gain a better understanding of budgeting money then who are we to complain?
The children have gone to school and told their teachers about the game and we have been asked to see a sample and how it is played. We would be forever grateful to those who help to fund this project and you should be proud to know that you are helping to shape the minds of tomorrow's adults.
The game is to be made of eco-friendly materials and ink; just another way of teaching my children responsibility.
In the end, my children ask less for the latest and greatest electronics and are using their imaginations and their minds more and more.
Risks and challenges
Through experience of playing the game, over and over, we have worked out all the 'bugs' so that it is enjoyable and easy for anyone with a basic knowledge of math and reading.
We are lucky enough to have artists in the family who have designed the box, the game sheets, money, and cards saving us a 'boat load' of money.
We have compared prices for printing, using eco-friendly paper and ink and found that we are a little short of the mark. That is where your funding comes in.
As long as the printing company can deliver when promised then there should be no issues on getting the game out as scheduled. In the event that they have issues, then we will keep our funders updated every step of the way.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
