Welcome to Vanuatu (second edition). This is a strategy game of programming actions by placing and retreiving workers, majorities, earning a little money and a lot of interaction between players.
You are a Vanuatuan who wants to prosper during the eight turns of the game. In order to do this, you will have to go fishing, discover treasures, buy and sell the local natural resources, and be on the lookout for tourists. To earn money or prosperity points, you may also draw on the sand*, or trade cargo with foreign countries.
(*) Sand Drawing in Vanuatu belongs to the Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity of the UNESCO.
Vanuatu (second edition) will contain both the 'Rising Waters' and 'Governor' mini-expansions. The 'Rising Waters' Expansion is also available as a standalone, the five submerged island tiles will be replaced by wooden parts. This way it is compatible with the old version of the game. The 'Governor' will not be available as a standalone expansion.
The game is language independent. Rules will be included in English, French, German and Dutch. You can review the rules by clicking the banner below.

As the campaign progresses more stretch goals will become unlocked and will enhance the look of the game.
Papà Paolo is the newest release in the Masterprint series. Here's a brief description of the game.
In Papà Paolo, 2 to 4 players compete to deliver the most pizzas to the hungry customers of Naples. To do this, you must outsmart your rivals by being a clever investor, bidding on the right city tiles, and creating your own little district of Naples.
Over the course of five game rounds, players first have to plan their actions carefully, choosing whether they want to invest in new pizzerias, make express deliveries, get sponsored by the bank, or decide to expand their district. Once all players have used up their action tokens, players get rewarded by receiving Lira, which they can then use in a bidding phase to determine how many deliveries you can make, and how many pizzas you can deliver. Once you deliver pizzas to your hungry customers, they reward you by boosting your abilities, making each action more powerful as the game progresses. Every decision counts, but Papà Paolo is a very accessible game, which will charm players of all ages alike.
This campaign features a pretty easy pledge level structure. You can either pledge a single game, a combo deal or 6 games at once. You can gather people in your viscinity and group pledge to reduce shipping costs. Just be aware 'rest of the world' targets might include customs fees being higher than expected. Vanuatu has been published before by KND games in 2011. They ran crowdfunding campaigns on Indiegogo and Ulule. If you pledged for one of these campaigns and you didn't receive the game, it's still possible to receive it. Read on to learn how to redeem your old pledge.
Press-release:We fell in love with Vanuatu and decided to breathe new life into this forgotten gem. In our opinion the game required a makeover and we also wanted to include the mini-expansions the 'Rising Waters' & 'Governor'. We are aware that there had been fullfilment issues with the original publishers crowdfunding campaign. Although Quined Games had nothing to do with this, we have decided to give the unfortunate backers who never received their copy a generous compensation in the form of Vanuatu (second edition).
Every backer of the original campaign that did NOT receive their game (or the expansion) will receive their copy (or copies) for FREE. Yes, because we are nice that way. How will this work? Well, we kindly ask each one of the backers to send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org with your full name, address, phone number, and a copy of the original e-mail you received during the original Ulule/Indiegogo campaign, clearly detailing the precise quantities of the copies that you ordered originally. The mail address mentioned in that original e-mail should be the one you send the e-mail from as proof.
Since this is a gift to you previous backers, we do ask of you to cover the shipping costs. We hope you understand this. Vanuatu is a game that has been promised to fans before, by other parties, who never delivered. Quined Games was in no way affiliated with these former prints. We're looking to make things right, both for this beautiful game, its original fans and future backers.
Two years ago, at Quined Games, Arno Quispel decided to publish Massilia. That game, by the same designer as Vanuatu, had never seen the printing press before that time. A successful Indiegogo page had been made, but somehow it never got published. Arno aquired the rights to this game and he published it, giving Massilia copies to duped backers.
We would like to do the same for Vanuatu. It was first released at Spiel Essen 2011. The quality was not up to par and fans demanded a reprint. This never happened. Now Quined Games has decided to print this game again. That is the reason you are reading this Kickstarter page. We wanted to change the look of the game. Make it look fresh and with pizazz! So Konstantin Vohwinkel offered to create new illustrations. He made a beautiful cover for Xanadú last year and that's how he got the job.
As some of you may know, Quined games is just a two man operation. We think that crowdfunding is a nice way to involve fans early on. The backers provide us with essential feedback, their involvement in the process lifts the game to a higher level.
This project would not have been possible without the help of Rafaël Theunis, who started the work on making this game look as it is today. You can hear his voice in the introductionary video and half of the graphic design on this page has been made by him. Not to mention he managed all the rules translations and polishing them.
We would like to thank Konstantin Vohwinkel as well, he didn't just provide the game of a new look, but he was very vigilant in providing us with art for the kickstarter page. Thank you guys.
Risks and challenges
As mentioned above Quined has been in the board game publishing business for ten years now. Arno has years of experience within the industry, which gives him first hand insight in the do's and don'ts. We are giving our 100 % to make it the best Kickstarter Campaign we've ever ran.
Our last Kickstarter Campaign "Carson City Big Box" was handled with care and we delivered the product we promised. This is a Vanuatu campaign that WILL deliver if you back it.
