This Big Box version of Carson City is a celebration of the 10th anniversary of Quined Games. We need a little bit of help from you guys to get this game printed and to your doorsteps.
Please Note: After this kickstarter Campaign is finished, the Big Box will not go retail on a large scale. If you don't live in Europe the chance of finding this big box in a shop is very slim (unless that shop pledged a few copies through this KS campaign.) But it will most likely not be widely available after the kickstarter, outside of Europe.
This thing of beauty will be part of your collection if you back the €75,-pledge level of Carson City Big Box:

A thematic game that takes you to the early stages from Coal mining in the Ruhr valley. It is the third game by Thomas Spitzer about Coal. The game features a very innovative and exciting action selection mechanic. In this game you can guide your farmer to get the right tools and knowledge to get the most coal from below the earth's surface.
A fun nice worker placement card game with a high level of interaction where you can spoil other user's buildings. Check out the gameplay in the video by Tom Vasel:
- For shipping we are currently working with partners around the globe to send them bulks of the game, they will be redistributing the games in their own country through their fullfilment channels. The names of our partners abroad are, Philibert in France, Gamesurplus in the USA, Boardgamebliss in Canada, Juegames Store in Spain and Rocks Games in the Netherlands. Please check out their website, and if you wish to add other games to your friends pledge, don't hesitate to contact them for custom orders.
Note that you should add the shipping cost as listed in the sheet below to your pledge. To pledge for Essen Pick-up please select European Union as shipping location.
Games for backers within the EU are shipped from within the EU, so you don't have to worry about extra charges. Games for backers within the United States & Canada are shipped from within the US & Canada. No worries about extra charges. Backers living outside the United States, Canada and EU, may have customs taxes added. Although this usually does not happen for games, it is the responsibility of individual backers to verify the shipping and taxes regulations within their own countries.
We like to support game stores around the world by offering them the special Kickstarter version of the Carson City Big Box during the campaign. If you're a retailer, please contact me directly with a personal message on kickstarter for pricing information and manually make your pledge in full through Kickstarter during the campaign.
Quined Games is a small publisher from the Netherlands, driven by our love for strategic boardgames. Unlike the big boys, we usually can't afford to ship far abroad. Using Kickstarter means we can both fund the project and aim for one bulk shipping order. Sending everything at once means we can make the Carson City Big Box available worldwide. Especially to fans in the USA, where Quined Games doesn't regularly ship a lot of products.
As an extra we added two avatars for you to show the internet that you support our Kickstarter.
This big box is also a small anniversary gift, since Quined games has its 10th birthday this year. This also means that Quined has 10 years of experience in game-publishing. It has published quite a number of games in the Netherlands and Europe. Here is a brief history of how Quined got started.
Quined Games was founded in 2005 by brothers Arno and Frank Quispel, respectively a lawyer and doctor, both living in a small town near Rotterdam in the Netherlands.
The name Quined can be interpreted as 'Quispel Nederland' and as " 'k win 't ", Dutch for “I win it”. The first game that was published was a Dutch-French edition of Reef Encounter.
In 2007 we launched our famous Master Print series, which celebrates the best games in the business by reprinting them and giving them a unique box cover resembling an old hardcover sleeved book. It makes for a beautiful collection of games, something we’re very proud of. The first edition was Leonardo da Vinci. The most recent member of the series, number 14, is The Golden Ages by Luigi Ferrini.
Frank has left Quined Games some years ago and Arno is still going strong. This year it is Quined's 10th anniversary.
Risks and challenges
As mentioned above Quined has been in the board game publishing business for ten years now. Arno has all these years of experience within the industry which gives him the insights of the do's and don'ts at first hand. We are giving our 100 % to make it the best Kickstarter Campaign we've ever ran.
Carson City has already sold 10,000 copies worldwide. On one hand that's already a lot for this type of strategy game. But on the other hand, many players asked us to do another edition of the game. However, Carson City has a lot of material, so it has to be printed in a large number of copies in order to sell at a reasonable price. So it is very risky to do without knowing if enough players are interested. Launching a Kickstarter helps answer that question.
I myself (Paul) have been reaching out to the fans from the start of this campaign (and long before), I plan on doing so till the big box is delivered onto your doorstep.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
