1st look at the Limited Edition Hardcover + the future of Blade Raiders

As I write this, the Blade Raiders rulebook has 2 weeks left to go -- Hopefully enough time to reach our new Stretch Goal of $9,000! (See my last update for more info on that.) :)

As an added "halfway-point sneak peek," I wanted to share a 1st look at the cover art for the Limited Edition hardcover version of the rulebook (available only via this Kickstarter!). The art/layout may change - I'll probably give it a few tweaks before it goes to print, but this gives you a general idea. Anyone who pledges $100 or more will receive this Limited Edition hardcover, signed by me, along with a copy of the regular softcover version. Questions? Check out the Pledge Rewards for more details, or shoot me a message.

I also wanted to take a moment to talk about the future of Blade Raiders. Now that we've passed our initial goal of $5,000, I've had a few people asking me what's next, in terms of upcoming products, sourcebooks, etc.

My plan right now is to release a "Storyteller Toolkit" as quickly as possible after the rulebook's done. The "Storyteller Toolkit" will likely include a storyteller screen (ie. a GM screen) and a monster manual type of book that includes stats and info on creatures, beasties and some NPCs. The rulebook's slated to be in your hands around October/November, so I'm shooting to have the "Storyteller Toolkit" available almost immediately after that, like November/December. One of the ways I'm going to make that happen is my friend and fellow illustrator Matthew Goodmanson is going to be tackling the art chores on the monster manual/NPC book while I'm working to finish up the rulebook. I love Matthew's art style and he'll be a great fit for Blade Raiders. Here's a sample of his work:  http://grantgould.com/misc/ArtSample_by_MattGoodmanson.jpg

And then, the next product you can expect to see is the first location-focused sourcebook, which will most likely be called "Sentinels of Stonemir." It will dive into much greater detail about the mountain-city of Stonemir and all of the lands around it, and will include adventure ideas, new NPCs, all that fun stuff. I'll be working on this book during the first quarter of 2013.

So that's what on deck for the near future. Rest assured, more info will be coming (keep BladeRaiders.com bookmarked). Please continue to spread the word about this Kickstarter, and thank you so much for your pledges, everyone! :)

Talk to you soon!

- Grant

Hmm, that's weird. I'd say just try the link again in a few minutes. Server might've had a hiccup -- it happens occasionally.

Yeah, I probably will -- At least for the first few books to get things off the ground. :)

Great stuff!! Really can't wait to have something in hand on this. Do you think you will be running kickstarter's for the future products (probably a duh question hehe)?
