"One Week Vacation" is a short film about a laborer (Bill) that has to use up his vacation days but has a hard time figuring out how to pass the time. After some thought, Bill decides on a vacation spot, one that will maximize his free time.
While Bill is away from work, his co-worker (Jim) does his best to oust Bill of his job.
Monies raised from this campaign will be used to produce the film.
While many people have pledged to donate gear or work out deals for rentals, it will still cost a substantial amount over the weekend for the camera, lenses, lights and other camera support.
When working on a small budget with a very good crew, it is important to keep their morale and energy high. The best way to do so is to feed them well. I have budgeted for four meals as well as snacks/refreshments so everyone is nourished and hydrated.
A lot of the money raised will be going towards props and set design. I want this to have very strong visuals and to do so I need to source, purchase, and or rent several vintage items.
Ultimately, it will end up costing more than $5,000 to produce this movie. This $2,000 will help get us the extra things and better gear to make this a successful project.
Thank you for your donation!
Risks and challenges
The biggest challenge is to get everyone in place and make the project come to life.
Everyone involved in this movie is connected to Milwaukee. Each person is a professional that is donating their time to help collaborate and make "One Week Vacation" a reality.
We have professional filmmakers, actors, artists & musicians.
That is the great thing about creating through a collaborative process. Each person will have a direct impact as to how the project looks in the end. The difficult part is getting those pieces in place and to get all of the content within the 2 shoot days.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
