Rise of the Beasts is a new line of mini figures in the spirit of the great toylines of 1980's. M.U.S.C.L.E., Battle Beasts and He-Man!
by Jon Karis
I can understand why you felt the need to cancel the line, BUT I feel like you should've done this post BEFORE cancelling the project.
I hope you made the factory feel like sh*t, because its THEIR fault, not yours.
Gold Lion? Thank you. I'll gladly still be backer should you try this project again.
Still getting the Gold Lion?... Awesome!!! but I hope this project comes back soon
Once I have them in hand, I will send a message out via Kickstarter that you can reply to with your address. Once I have that I'll start shipping them out.
Man.... once again the beasts go on the back burner. Here is hoping for better news in the future. That said.... how do we get our Gold Lion then ^_^
Oh, what to say, what to say. I'm one of these guys who feels process is as important, if not more, than the result. Leaving that aside, because I don't think I know enough about the actual facts of the process that resulted in this cancellation (for example I'm still unsure of the timing of the whole deal with P!, and where they fit in the cancellation), I still have the feeling that the end results will not be as favourable - making this loss any way you cut it. For example, under my present funding level I was going to get 11 figures (assuming we would hit $17,000) for $45, shipped to Canada. I doubt I'm going to get a deal anything close to that in the future.
I'm not sure I'm going to support this series any further - which is unfortunate because I wasn't just a purchaser - I was a an ardent promoter of yours from day 1.
Thanks for clearing that up, Jon. The news is definitely very different than the way it sounded in your first post, but you made a smart decision. I'm sure it's been a pretty crazy day all around, so I'm just glad the communication is clear now.
I understand your decision and I think it really is for the best.
We've waited 20 years for these guys, we can wait a few weeks for you guys to clear up your factory issues. Once all is straightened out I hope you start a new KickStarter because I still belive in this project and will be back!
I agree. Not sure why it took several hours for even a little info on what went down. Jon, I feel like you've been on here all morning try to calm people down and reassure us, but with nothing to really back you up. Like I said, either way I'll be checking in on this project to see where it goes from here.
PS. Any way I could buy a Gold Lion?
While initially pissed about the cancellation, I understand. What i don't understand is why you just didn't say so from the beginning? At worst I would've been disappointed that the project got delayed. I think that if you said this from the get go there wouldn't have been such a negative reaction.
Well, this is the first comment I have left during this whole thing. I was extremely confused when I saw that the funding was cancelled, but I was not angry. Honestly, I had figured that a mistake had been made somewhere. Because with all of the support that this project has seen, I can't imagine you guys would want to back out. Sorry everything with the factory fell though.
It is was also weird to see the variance in reactions between the kickstarter and the LRG forum. Like a number of people on the forum, I figured I'd wait for an explanation before deciding how I felt about all of this. Although I imagine that this has hurt you quite a bit, I still look forward to seeing what will happen with this line.
My biggest regret is that I was only going to spare $30 for this, because I bet that Gold Lion is pretty sweet and I'm sorry I'll miss out. I just didn't have the most money to spare, especially will an Onell drop in a week or so.
Please keep us posted on whats in store for this project. I'll def be checking in. I'm curious to see actually shots of the figures, even though the 3D images do look nice. See you in June, I guess.
See this we can understand, Thank you for the info Jon.
But us toy freaks fear change and have been known to lash out too quickly sometimes.
I look forward to more updates as you move forward with the line.
