WHY YOU SHOULD BACK THIS PROJECT
Hollywood will never allow something this unapologetic exist. It is simply too against the elitist agenda it has been pushing for the last 100 years. There is a demand for these books and this show that hasn’t been seen in years and yet it still must stand on its own. The simple truth is we don’t need Hollywood. We can raise the funds ourselves. It also helps that Black Sands Entertainment has already ran two successful Kickstarter campaigns and won numerous awards for excellence and professionalism. By backing this project, you are telling the world that images and stories like this are needed.

A dream match for all our fans is coming to the big screen. It has been decided that Rah vs Apedemak will be what we focus our efforts on and you will see it at the Sundance Film Festival.
Additionally, we plan to release a trailer in the next 2 months, probably premiering at Dream Con.
The final countdown has begun and we added the ultimate tier for upping your pledge. A family portrait like the one you see above. Time for your family to become GODS.
Black Sands Entertainment is a black-owned production and publishing company that focuses on Pan-Africanism and Kemetic lore for children of all ages. The brand was launched in 2016 to fill a void in the comic book community that lacks diversity in its production, characters, and storytelling. The owners, writer and military vets Manuel Godoy along with his wife Geiszel Godoy have created children books, novels and animations that focus on African mythology as black heroes and Black Sands Entertainment aim to promote quality art, diverse storytelling while highlighting traditional family values for people of color. The current projects under Black Sands Entertainment are Mori’s Family Adventure, Sons of Nibiru, and Kids 2 Kings part 1 and 2.

Actions speak louder than words. Watch the pilot above.
Black Sands follows the young prince Ausar on his path to become the next Pharaoh of Kemet when he and his kin are dragged into a war that threatens the realms of men. What Is UNIQUE about Black Sands compared to it’s competition is the extreme attention to detail in the narrative, political relationships, and mythological lore placed in the story. It is not simply a “Black Version of Avatar.” It is an epic story about a time period in history long forgotten.
While we are pretty dang successful, selling over 10,000 books in the first 120 days of business, we simply can't afford to make a movie with our excess funds. All of our "profits" have gone to future development of more books, events around the country, and summer programs for youth. Kickstarter is where we make NEW stuff happen and with the momentum Black Sands has, it is best to act now!
Creator of Black Sands Entertainment, Manuel Godoy is the creator and writer of Kids 2 Kings and Sons of Nibiru. His creative collections focus on comics, animations, and children books that mix African American history with mythology. After being frustrated with the lack of diverse representation with comic book characters, animations, and talent, Godoy decided to launch his brand independently after not garnering interest from mainstream publishers. He has had a successful Kickstarter and Patreon with a growing fan base of supporters and fans.

Immediately after successfully funding the project, we will begin finalizing negotiations with some animation studios. We are intending on using either French of Korean studios, but China and India are not out of the question.
We expect the production to take 1 year and we will have a screenplay + storyboard ready in August.
Risks and challenges
We made sure the campaign goal would have a long production time of one year. This gives us time to secure our animation team and build a proper story. We have had much success in the past wit hour Kickstarters and have handled delays quite well with adequate compensation. There should be little to fear if we make our goal.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
