The Tooth Artists
The tooth artists are lovely beaver like creatures with very big, strong teeth. Their favourite place for 'hanging out' is the tight rope, but they don't do this much because they know that this makes the tight rope artist very ropey! So instead they are often found dangling from the washing line, which is why Åska can never find enough space for her laundry. Maybe they even sleep hanging around, but I haven't been lucky enough to see that yet.
Word has it that they have American ancestors that ended up all the way over here in Scandinavia because once they were 'hanging' from an anchor's rope and the rope was so thick and comfortable that they fell asleep and when they woke up, they were already in high seas. Imagine the shock!
You probably wonder how is it possible that they are all so plump! For the Tooth Artists, being plump is a sign that you have become a professional 'hanger'. It means your teeth are so strong that it can hold all that weight. They actually work as hard on getting the belly as on strengthening their teeth, and so as soon as they get their first tooth, they start training, hanging and eating, eating and hanging, on and on. They cannot resist a good forest berries pie, specially the one Åska's grandma makes on Sundays.
