The New World playing cards was inspired from my previous work experience with Jonas Akerlund on Dragon's Hoard. I and many others instantly fell in love with the art that came to life because of backers like you through a kickstarter campaign much like this one.
After Dragon's Hoard was sent to the printers, I was ready to start a new project. I contacted Jonas, and asked him what he thought about creating a deck of 54 playing cards together. He was so excited that it became his pride and joy project. A short while later, Jonas sent me a handful of his favorite sketches. I was blown away. Jonas enriched the ideas I sent him and added his own incredible influence to build a playing card deck I'm very proud to be a part of. And now, I'm very excited to be presenting it to all of you.
Below is a list of the three different decks you can get by pledging. The blue and red deck are nearly the same with different backs. The limited edition deck has a spacious dark background, as well as a unique back. There will only be up to $5,000 limited edition decks ever printed.
We hope to raise the funds to print this incredible deck so that thousands can enjoy their favorite card games with fresh and amazing artwork that will inspire and captivate the minds of many. Our goal and dream is to bring more creativity into this world; that is what we hope to accomplish.
By supporting this project, you are supporting both my and Jonas's desire to continue on our creative path to bring more games and art to your door. We truly want to bring something to your table that is going to inspire your family and friends to gather around for hours.
The funding goal seems low? I have had a few people bring this concern to my attention. I wanted to explain this so there are no miss understandings. Because of the amount of decks I'm printing, and because the red and blue deck share the same face cards, USPCC gave me a great quote for all three decks of $18,000. That includes printing and shipping to my location. I'm very grateful to my backers of Dragon's Hoard. Because of our 550% over funding, I was able to save some money for the shipping of this project. So the $18,000 goal is the amount I needed to get this deck funded, and shipped out. I'm sorry if there was any confusion.
Thank you all again for your support.
Jonas and I appreciate all who have taken the time to look at our project. It has been very fun for us to create. For me, working with Jonas, and receiving these magnificent illustrations has became something I look forward to every day. I hope all of you reading this will have the same experience of joy I receive each time I see a new illustration. With your help, this deck will soon be in our hands. Thanks again for believing in what we are doing, and we thank you for your support.
Risks and challenges
This is my second Kickstarter project and I'm excited and ready to go on another adventure with all of you. I am happy to say Dragon's Hoard is now in the middle of printing, and all there is left to do is ship out all the games. As for shipping, I have gathered a team of experts who have worked with a publishing company for over ten years to help effectively and quickly ship the games out. I foresee no complications with completing Dragon's Hoard to the fullest.
As for this new project, I have talked with Bicycle, and I know what is needed to get the deck printed and delivered on schedule. If anyone wants to see how I ran my previous project, there will be a link below. I have been clear and honest with my supporters. And I promise to work hard like I have done in the past to bring this amazing deck to you with the best quality possible.
