"The year was 1985, Daniel McCormack was like any other man, dreaming of sports cars and a brighter future with his girlfriend, Jennifer. One night Daniel stops an assault on several civilians by the notorious Kano Gang who have been overpowering the city of Santa Mira. Unfortunately, Daniel’s bravery is short lived as he is murdered by Johnny, the gang’s leader. A year later, on a thunderous October night, Daniel rises from his grave seeking revenge on the men who took his life, his future and his dreams."
This is "Night Run".
It all began in the winter of 2013, during a marathon of 80's Halloween flicks. NIGHT RUN was born out of the love of everything 80's, from films, commercials, fashion and music. It all came from that amazing decade that gave us Alf and Where's The Beef lady, how can one deny the awesomeness of the 80's? Quite gradually this project was always left on the back burner, the project kept being put aside and the rise of 80's popularity continued to grow. Something had to be done about it.
Thus about a year ago the project was resurrected (no pun intended, believe me). The initial storyboards and first drafts from 2013 were dusted off and an actual pre-production phase began. Casting, script re-writes and location scouting occurred during the summer of 2016. Within a few weeks, cameras started rolling.
The goal? To make a trailer as a pitch on Kickstarter for us to shoot a feature length film.
The intention for NIGHT RUN is to make a full 90 minute movie. A movie that will look and feel as an actual film shot in 1985, from the costume design, the film score and direction, without trying to over stylize the visuals. Imagine a film that you could watch back to back with The Terminator, Miami Vice or even a Friday the 13th flick.
That's what NIGHT RUN is, the greatest 80's film that never was.
We plan on shooting everything practically with little to no green screen work. A down and dirty film with grit and realism, with shoot outs, fight scenes and every now and then a car chase.
Unfortunately all that costs money, with your help we'll be able to rent better equipment, hire an actual crew, acquire permit locations, props, car rentals, and post production work. All the money will go directly towards the making of this film, every penny will be spent in furthering this project to being the best that it can be.
If you decide to help back this film, you'll be rewarded with a bunch of rad stuff. Rewards will range from a digital copy of the film (backers will be the first to see the film), as well as the films Blu-ray and poster. You'll also have the chance to secure your very own copy of the film in VHS tape, in it's glorious 4:3 format! Other cool stuff includes the film soundtrack in vinyl, cassette tape and the films t-shirt, check out the pledges for the full details!

The films soundtrack will be composed by Crockett. Over the last few years Crockett has composed dozens of tracks emulating film scores from the 80's with an unique synth sound that encapsulates sounds and emotions from action and teen romance films from that era, replicating the sound like no other musician. Check out his debut album "The Heist", 13 tracks that would sure make Jan Hammer proud.
UPDATE! Crockett Presents "The Outrunner" an exclusive brand new track for Night Run!
We were fortunate enough to find the best cast possible. We're still pinching ourselves on how perfect the cast was according to the script and what we first envisioned.
The crew was incredibly small, it consisted of Director, Erick Solis and his first AD, Elizabeth Salazar. Due to the almost non-existent crew, Director Erick Solis also operated the camera, lighting, blocking, editing, VFX work and all the graphic designs for the film.
Both are fans of 80's films and wanted to bring back that awesome decade that popularized the mullet and Magnum P.I.
And finally, if you've gotten this far and are still reading, you are by far the coolest person on the planet. This project cannot be done without your help, from everyone involved in this campaign, we thank you.
So if you'd like to be part of the greatest 80's film that never was, this is your chance! Now go be awesome!

Risks and challenges
Undertaking a feature full length film is always a challenge since there are many unknown factors that arrive while in production or in post. However we are more than capable to bring you an end result that will make the budget appear as twice as it was. The trailer is a testament to that, it was made by only two people, now imagine what an actual crew could bring you!
And thankfully Kickstarter is a platform that allows backers like you to help fund a project like this, making any challenge much more easy to overcome.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
