      Death threat is a bit over the top... but a bucket of shit over his head is not.

      @Alvin Lua, RigidBot went broke a couple of years ago. Michael lost everything and is no longer associated with this project. The nice guys at Laser Weld Design ( picked up what was left and are developing an improved machine. They have no obligation to any of the original backers so do not ask them to fulfill any warranty. Get in touch with Heath Harper and he should be able to sell you the parts you are missing. Best of luck.

      Hi Michael, i opened up my unassembled big rigidbot kit only to find out that instead of 3 big stepper motors and 2 small stepper motors, your side sent me 1 big stepper motor and 4 small stepper motors instead. I am unable to continue the assembly. Can you advise how to resolve this. Or share with me the stepper motor supplier contact details or website/link so i can obtain the 2 big stepper motors that i am lacking?

      Man. Only 6%, by the claim of one of the "screwed". Death threats. Wow, just wow. Of course, you are entitled to a printer. Get over it. I've been screwed over for far more than $500 several times, by douchebags who can hide behind paperwork and I don't even go after them in small claims court, let alone send death threats (which by the way, can get you in far more trouble than coming up short on 6% of the production run of boxes of metal and plastic). And yes, my story didn't end as well as I would have hoped, either. I have hours in mine and still it's not really stable. But then, neither are a lot of Makerbots at 4-6 times the price. Move the hell on.

      I can't even get my head around this. Everyone knows Kickstarter is shaky at best. If these were rock solid projects, they'd get funding from conventional sources. I guess it's obvious the people with the pitchforks are not capable of creating something themselves, because they would know reality. Maybe they don't believe what Michael is saying about leveraging everything to keep it together? BK should be public record, right? No one goes through 2 years of harassment, then strategically files BK once they are totally out of money.

      Michael may be naive, but it really seems he did way more than he should have to make things right. I'm not happy about leveraging the house. Definitely should have had the companies registered as corporations to protect personal assets and drawn the line at the house.

      That anyone is making death threats over this is despicable.

      @Ross Webb-Wagg
      By my count of the reward levels, only 1838 backers pledged for a printer reward. 4% makes for 74 backers. There's probably other factors, but it sounds like it was pretty close. It's a shame it didn't work out for everyone.

    6. ddamato on

      It is deplorable that Michael receives threats!!! Michael dared to dream, create, and took the risky leap into entrepreneurship. He should be celebrated, supported, and encouraged to dream and create again, as he is exactly what America and the world needs. Bravo Michael!!!

    8. amigacooke on

      @Brett M

      I think I'm entitled as 96% of backers have received a printer or refund. Why should the other 4% not feel entitled?

      I fully realise that I'm not going to get anything out of my donation and that Michael has ended up considerably worse off than any of the backers. I wish him well for the future as I've just been disappointed, he's been made bankrupt.

    9. Ross Webb-Wagg on

      Typo it should have been @Brett

    10. Ross Webb-Wagg on

      We have been told that only 4% never got a refund or printer which is around 78 people. Unfortunately I am one of them. I believe the figure is probable much high than this.

      I'm surprised it has taken this long for them to file for bankruptcy, I have been trying to get a refund ever since they changed the postage price to Australia over 2 years ago.

      @Ben did you get your printer? Or are you like the rest of the 78+ people who gave their hard earned money for vapourware?
      Yes Kickstarter is a service, but an international service and some countries have laws that "protect" the person paying for such service. All Kickstarter is stating if you have a problem take it up with the creator, as it is their responsibility.

    13. Jonathan Jelinek on

      I feel bad for all of the backers who haven't received a 3d printer. I received my printer around September 2014. After a handful of successful prints the power supply failed. Support was responsive and I mailed back the bad power supply and received a new power supply within a month of sending it in.
      I think Mr. Lundwall had great intentions and was successful at producing the printers for awhile. I'm not sure what happened in the years that followed.

    14. Brett M on

      Why do you people think you are entitled to a printer for your contribution? I am just curious because the nature of crowdfunding is that you are supporting a project with no commitment of any kind that the reward will be realized. this is just crowdsourcing 101 and is well documented in the kickstarter terms of service. Just curious why you think you are entitled to the reward when by contributing you agreed you were not entitled to anything other than contributing. sorry it didn't work out for you, at the same time.

      Did anyone get their money back? I've been trying to email them on either and their address and I never got any replies and all emails bounced back.
      I would like to either get my money back or get the printer but really paying $425 and getting nothing in return is about as bad as it can get.

      Yeh still waiting for refund. It's been 3 years now? They have not made any contact with me, despite several attempts at contacting them. Very poor business practice. I hope someone from the USA with more connections can make these guys get what they deserve for running such an amateurish, poor excuse of a company then bailing with all our money....

      Does anyone really have the hope to see money or the printer? What is going on here is clearly a fraud. More money to be asked for is in this case an extortion, because a refund does not work. Pay more or get nothing. Meanwhile, probably pay more and get nothing. This campaign was for me a lesson. Bad for my opinion about kickstarter.

      OK guys, it looks like the Department of Justice is already looking into another Kickstarter with failed promises to refund or deliver: I would suggest that we start filing complaints with. The web address for Utah DoJ is: Lastly, don't forget that Michael has tried to hide behind a new company name: Additive Inc This will cost them more in legal fees than they owe us, maybe they will react rather than ignoring and hiding.
