About this project
Hi! My name is Matt.
I love my girlfriend, my cats, music, musical instruments, boogie boarding, art, poetry, electronics, and robots. I live in Brooklyn where I work hard on my band, Octant. I am currently writing and recording the next Octant record and I need your help!
I am trying to raise $1,500 to press the new Octant record onto vinyl. This will cover most of the mastering and pressing of 1,000 copies. I am making vinyl because I want to maintain the sonic warmth and visual beauty of the “album” in the indie music tradition. I also want the new kids to be exposed to this wonderful medium.
Octant can be described as a one-man band featuring mainly acoustic robotic musical instruments that back me up like a player piano as I sing. It is my ongoing solo musical project that incorporates a great deal of my visual art and music.
I have produced robotic art installations and performances, animations, paintings, drawings, poems, songs, and music in various forms over the past 20 years.
