Note, there is only a very tiny amount of baking soda as to not disturb the skin because it is such a large player in soaking up perspiration and deodorizing. The truly wholesome ingredients make for an irritation-free experience.
"I was amazed. Now tmi, but I'm a very sweaty person and I've always written off all natural deodorants assuming they would not work for me. But by God this deodorant works like magic!!! I apply it in the morning and then again if I'm going to work out and I don't smell and I hardly sweat! It's a miracle! I will be 100% recommending these products and giving them as gifts this holiday season! (Plus the hand written note inside made me so happy!)" - Kaylyn Butorac, Reviews.io
"I received their deodorant and immediately fell in love! I have super sensitive armpits and usually can't handle baking soda in a deodorant, but I've been using this for about a month consistently now and have had no reaction. This stuff works better than my previously trusty Native deodorant, and I very, very rarely have to apply more than once a day. Quite probably a customer for life!" - Sarah, Reviews.io
Lip Balm: Candelilla Wax, Cocoa Butter, Castor Oil, and Pure Vanilla Oil.

Why EcoBottle? Our Story
- Fact #1: Recycling is not a solution. Only 10% of "recycled" plastic actually gets recycled.
- Fact #2: Up to 12.7 million tonnes of plastic hit the environment every year, and rising.
- Fact #3: Reusable bottles and packaging are great… but only a tiny fraction of people actually use them.
- Fact #4: There are no full solutions available on the market.
There’s certain things that everyone may not want to or have time to make at home. (Hair conditioner for example.)
Single-use packaging is here to stay. Many industries will forever continue to use them.
So we need solutions.
It's destroying the environment, killing wildlife, toxifying our food, contaminating our drinking water, and causing climate crisis… leading to irreversible consequences for our home planet and species.
We started designing the EcoBottle for our body care company to use for shampoo and conditioner.
Our entire business and every product is zero-waste, food-grade natural, plant-based, toxin-free, and compostable.
BUT there was no solutions for liquid products.
So we made one.
We’ve been developing compostable zero-waste packaging for 3 years.
We launched our first line of packaging and Natural Vegan Bodycare on Kickstarter in November 2017 and have elevated thousands of lives and reduced many thousands of pounds of plastic since.
The EcoBottle is next, in a line of proven functional packaging, BUT...
The difference is – its technology can transform the world of packaging.
It can directly replace plastic water bottles and shampoo bottles… but also all packaging using the same methods we used to create it.
The EcoBottle is made with 4 materials: recycled paper, natural cork, PHA naturally occurring biopolymer, and soybean wax.
PHA is FDA approved for uses like drinking water and holding consumables.
PHA stands for polyhydroxyalkanoate. It’s a naturally occurring biopolymer. It’s made by bacteria that feed on sugars, vegetable oils, starches and greenhouse gases, and it’s FDA approved.
This biopolymer is compostable, biodegradable, produces no toxic-waste and it breaks down into water, CO2, and organic matter. It’s compostable in soil, landfills, fresh water and in the ocean. And it functions in both hot and cold environments.
Organic soybean wax is made from soybeans and vegetables, both renewable resources. It’s organic, all natural, non-toxic and non-hazardous. And of course it’s biodegradable.
Natural cork comes from the cork oak tree in the form of cork bark! It’s harvested once it hits maturity, it doesn’t harm the tree, and the cork bark regrows.
And of course, recycled paper cut, stamped and molded into cylinder tubes. The EcoBottle could be made with any type of paper, including hyper-renewables such as hemp or bamboo papers.
The cork cap can be sealed using compostable non-toxic paper stickers after filling.
The bottle can be flipped upside down with no leaks.
And a cork base can be added to it, slipped on tight with no glue, for situations when it may touch water for long period of time such as in the shower.
Composting & Recycling
The paper EcoBottle is of course fully compostable but can also be recycled at your curb-side.
Goal #1 is to recycle. If you have the option, this is best, because the already harvested resources can be turned into something usable.
Goal #2 is compostable. Many things get lost during the recycling loop and end up in the environment (close to 90% of plastics actually)… difficult or impossible to clean up, packaging needs to compost.
The EcoBottle elements compost between 2 weeks and about 1 year. Paper takes 2-4 weeks. Organic soybean wax takes 7-12 weeks. Natural cork takes 3-6 months, and PHA takes about 1 year.
Comparably, plastic takes 400-1000 years, aluminum takes 200-500 years, and glass lasts forever or an estimated 1 million years.
A year may seem like a long time, but not compared to todays solutions that outlast the average human life by 3-15 times (not including glass).
It's true that any plastic that has ever been made in the history of humanity and ended up in the environment is still there and not even begun to degrade.
We believe in the power of our community. We’ve held successful Kickstarters in the past when our projects were in need and you all pulled through and supported us like we never believed.
Now we’re back with a project the world needs, so close to bringing it to mass market.
We’ve sold our homes for this, we work around the clock for this, and we know we can finish strong with your help, bring this to life and get the word out that a new age of compostable plastic-free options is here and inspire more people and businesses to take action.
We want to share the journey with you. Pledge now and let's push for a better future!
Rewards will be sent out in May of this year (2019).
All manufacturers and partners are already set up. We've been working with them reliably for over a year with many large successful orders and have established relationships.
They have the designs and product formulas in hand as they have helped us to bring this project to life. After our last campaign we made sure to have them ready and waiting to bring you your rewards quickly.
Meet the Team
Jaymie has started 5 business since the age of 13, with experience growing and managing multi-million dollar software companies. An environmentalist and purpose driven entrepreneur at heart, he sold his businesses, his home and most things he owned to bring his vision of Natural Vegan Bodycare and fully compostable packaging solutions to life.
Hannah’s journey to a conscious lifestyle had her creating her own body products for many years because nothing suited her standards — recipes which are still the base of our amazing products today.
Natural Vegan has partnered with DeCaro Manufacturing in Michigan to manufacture and fulfill the products. A family owned operation that welcomed us and believes in our cause… always willing to adapt their machines to our unique packaging and pouring things by hand with love.
Where will the funds be used
Funds will go to ordering our first inventory of the bottle, making new and improved models, buy the appropriate machinery to make it available to large businesses, and developing more types of packaging!
We can't do this without you! Please make your pledge today!
As mentioned above, the EcoBottle Prototype rewards will not be meant for regular use or for drinking so it's not a liability to us because they need to be approved by the FDA (US), EMA (Europe), etc (that's what the Kickstarter campaign is for!) before we can approve of people using them for ingesting liquids. All other products are of course approved and have been on the market for about a year with thousands of happy customers.
These organizations say between 3-12 months timeline for proper testing and approval. We don't want you to wait that long since government organizations are historically slow, so this is why we will send out you rewards in May and why the EcoBottle will not be meant for regular use.
Risks and challenges
This is our second Kickstarter campaign. To date, we have delivered thousands of units around the world. We are using the same supply base that we established over the past year through our first products.
We feel very confident that we will hit the shipping dates we are providing. That said, having so many products and rewards is complex and we hold ourselves to incredibly high standards in terms of quality and experience. We also know that includes getting what you paid for quickly, so we will do our absolute and use the budget accordingly to get your items to you on time.
If an issue comes up along the way, we promise to be as transparent as possible while working towards a solution that will leave our backers proud of us and leave us proud of our company.
Stuff happens. Power goes out, the wrong parts are delivered, machines and tools malfunction. We have worked with our manufacturers and our current supply chain for over a year. We have built in time for ebbs and flows, but a big ebb or a far flow can affect how long it takes to get all of our products complete at the same time. For this we will do our best and have secured backup suppliers in case something very major happens.
We have people and processes in place to make shipping as smooth as possible. We have a fulfillment centre that has been informed and is working with us to prepare more employees to ensure they can handle larger volumes during the time we will be shipping out. Just like with the supply chain, however, there are always things such as crowded ports and bad weather that can come up and make things take slightly longer than any of us would like.
Act of God:
We’re based in the outskirts of Vancouver and Detroit. Earthquakes could happen, a wall could come up between us, who knows? Our main goal is to do what’s right by our customers while setting ourselves up to be a sustainable company so that we can keep building these products for you and for the world.
