Vampire Count Von Herbimhyre suddenly vaulted on to his undead dragon and flew off....Well actually he got on the chariot it was dragging since the dragon was too small to actually carry anyone....but he did leave with haste!
"Where's he going?" one halfling skeleton asked another.
"I don't know, but who is that following him? Are they witch hunters? Should we help him!"
"Ooh! They have some pretty big horses and there's a lot of them. Maybe we should stay here"
"Ya, know actually I wouldn't mind sitting down behind that hill over there."
This is Kickstarter number three in the Halfling Skeleton Series! This is the BIG ONE!!!! Here you get the front liners, the troops that are actually suppose to get stuck in and do the heavy hand-to-hand fighting! If you've missed Kickstarters one and two, no worries, you can get those figures as add-ons in this kickstarter!
The renown Bob Olley (who refuses to dig up his back yard to look for lost treasure) again creates a fantastic line of miniatures that are artful and full of character!
I actually did most of the sample painting this time (and you can tell)! I have to say these guys were easy and very fun to paint! In the updates I will provide some helpful tips for painting the boys (though again I am a mediocre painter so take them with a grain of salt).
If we hit the lion share of our stretch goals there will be a plethora of poses!
There are two kinds of shields (with a few exceptions). Some figures have flat surfaces that are excellent for painting your own motif! My halfling army's motif is the strawberry cake, my daughter carried it over to the undead. I just added some muck to make it look like they had been buried for a while and they turned out great! Your's should too!
In Kickstarter two, I asked Bob to dress the main hero in black orc armor, reminiscent of work he had done in the past. It turned out fantastic! In this set Bob continued the same style of shields with faces on them. It adds a lot of character to the figures! I had a great time painting the tongues and dry brushing the teeth back in! I think you will too!
We continued with the integrated metal bases. I found that they were very easy to work with. If you decide to put them on raised bases it was my experience that the integral base blends well with basing material and looks very natural! If you decide to affix them to trays I think you will find the same to be true since the metal figures bases are not overly thick. If you decide not to use raised bases or trays the integrated bases are textured and can be painted and then grassed for a satisfying appearance! If you are new to the halfling skeleton kickstarters, the first set (of archers) do need to be mounted on raised bases.
All shipping costs will be collected after the conclusion of the kickstarter. I will send out a shipping invoice requesting payment for shipping and your address.
You know how this works! Your pledges are how we will make Halfling Skeletons Armies a reality.
Add-ons are additional Halfling Skeleton miniatures you can pledge for to expand your armies into a truly terrifying host! To pledge for an-add on simply add the cost of the item to your pledge total and tell us what you want in the backer survey we will send out after the project funds.
Once we have successfully funded our vicious Halfling Skeleton Armies, we will use stretch goals to expand the range with new poses for the Warrior and Spear units, quirky characters, and if we get far enough, new units. Each stretch goal will have a specific dollar amount required to unlock the goal.
There are three types of stretch goal: unit upgrades, Bonuses, and Purchase Add-ons. Upgrades increase the vitality of an already existing unit. We hope to increase the number of poses in the warrior unit to 8 and the spear unit to 9! Bonuses are free items that are given to a specific backer levels. Purchase Add-ons are items that are not included in your basic pledge. In order to receive them you must increase your pledge by the cost of the Add-on.
Risks and challenges
Risks are minimal. This is the third kickstarter in the series. 85% of the work is done. The BIG ONE (earthquake) could hit California, though, I think at that point your miniatures will be very low on your priorities list.
These wargaming miniatures and are not recommended for children under 14 years of age. They may contain lead which may be harmful if chewed or swallowed.
All miniatures are supplied unpainted, without bases (with the exception of archers that maybe added on will be provided with bases).Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
