The G Ride is intended to blow your mind. Picture gold, bling, fire and a touch of class. The front of the vehicle will be equipped with a giant BO$$ sign built in a classic marquee style, flanked on either side by flame shooting artillery. The back of the car will house the penalty box, a gold cage for on playa hockey games, dancing and all kinds of mayhem. More fun lies in the middle section, as we’ve stretched a PT Cruiser to accommodate maximum party potential. There will be two large diamond rings, a smaller one in behind the driver and a larger one in the rear. We’ll have seating in the middle with plenty of standing room along the sides, plus a removable leopard print lace shade structure. For people's auditory enjoyment there will be an oversized, classic boom box changing up the sound scape with O.G. hip hop to inspire you to get down on the light up dance floor, fully programable and brilliantly bright.
This is all possible because we were gifted a PT Cruiser as the foundation for The G Ride. We have cut and stretched the car to accommodate the largest amount of people possible (20+). The team has been hard at work welding, framing, painting, bedazzling and designing this gem, as the project is well underway. Our core crew holds the mechanical, engineering, design and artistic development skills necessary to complete this project and will be contributing financially as well. But in order to make this dream a reality we need to raise $7500 to help cover the costs of materials and transportation to the Playa. Where will all this skrilla go? We’re glad you asked. Here’s a rough projection of the costs that your donations will help us cover.*
Lighting & light up dance floor $800
Battery Bank $800
Paint & bedazzle $500
Sound system $800
Truck & trailer rental to get it to Black Rock City $1,500
*The truth is this art car will definitely cost more than the above amount. But we believe in the project and are prepared to do our part to make this dream a reality. We also have not include our Kickstarter rewards or fees into our budget, as we want to offer them as gifts from us to you, to express our gratitude for your support. Needless to say any donation above and beyond is greatly appreciated!
Risks and challenges
There are obviously risks and challenges to a project of this scale. We've got limited time and limited resources. Beyond production we also have to transport this glorious ride over 1,000 miles from Colorado to Black Rock City. If we don't have enough funds to rent a truck we will attempt to tow it behind a school bus, which could present a million risks in and of itself. But we are extremely hard working and resilient, and will do whatever needs to be done on our end to ensure that The G Ride makes it to the playa! With construction well underway, all we need is a little help from you and we'll be able to make this happen!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
