Helloooooooo I’m Joseph, a designer from London with a background in product and furniture making. Currently I am a masters student at the Royal College of Art in London.
The idea started when I had to get ready for my uncle's wedding and realized (rather too late) that the trousers were too long, so being the crafty designer I am, I rummaged around and found a piece of silver from an old project and folded it over my rolled-up trousers to keep them in place.
After a talk from Oscar Lhermitte, I was inspired to take my idea and produce it for all of you wonderful people. How to use the Ag clips is up to you as it's designed to be experimented with. Check out the video for more inspiration.
Material details -
Ag is made from 925 Sterling silver to make sure its strong enough for everyday wear and resistant to staining. The silver will age gracefully overtime building a lovely patina making each piece unique (this can be easily polished off if that's not your vibe). Secondly the silver’s natural properties protect it unlike steel which require various post treatment processes like galvanizing which are particularly harmful to the environment in terms of air pollutants, high energy consumption and makes the material non-recyclable (fashion shouldn’t cost the earth).
Ag is manufactured here in London by myself and girlfriend (She's a designer too).
Each piece is made by hand so may have tiny variations between then.
Material: 925 Sterling Silver

What your money is used for -
£200+ - Labour (This is to pay people a living wage especially if you want to live in London)
£420+ - Materials (Sterling silver is expensive but worth it)
£80+ - Delivery (Postage, packaging, envelopes, production etc)
£56 - Kickstarter fee
Risks and challenges
I have kept the design as simple as possible to reduce any unwanted surprises during the manufacturing and to make it easy to deliver. I am in my final year of my masters so I will be delivering the Ag in August (After my graduation)
These dates are to allow a good amount of time in case anything does go wrong like late deliveries from suppliers etc and also allow me to thoroughly check the quality of the objects before they are dispatched.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
