--------Original post follows--------
Format: Standard comic, Issue #1 of 4 (mini-series), full color, 28 pages (plus bonus content)
Synopsis-- Set in the distant future on a unique alien world that professes to be the "perfect society", EDEN is the astonishing tale of a woman mysteriously robbed of her only son and her desperate struggle to get him back.
Introduction--In the year 2714, the invasion of Earth by a mysterious alien army throws humanity into chaos, enslavement and suffering. Brigadier General Neriah Willis is Earth's most fearless, decorated military warrior and trusted field leader of the human rebellion. As humankind begins to lose all hope of defeating the invaders, the planet's High Council launches a last-resort mission to send Neriah to a refugee planet known as "EDEN" where she can secure a utopian home for the remaining population of Earth. All goes awry when Neriah (transported with her only son Avion) abruptly crash-lands off course on the outskirts of EDEN's greatest colony, where she awakens just in time to witness her ship explode with her son seemingly trapped inside. Told that Avion is dead (which she can't allow herself to believe), Neriah soon discovers that this new, "perfect world" is actually the domain of a much larger, ancient enemy at work.
Issue #1 Solicitation: The saga begins as three unlikey heroes, Neriah, Christian and a strange alien named Kla'Tuu, embark on a dangerous journey to unearth the truth behind the disappearence of Neriah's only son, Avion. Monsterous beasts, ancient extraterrestrials and a cryptically evil figure lurk in the darkness, setting out to destroy the team at every turn!
--From the breakout comic artist discovered in the movie Comic Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope comes Eric Henson's "EDEN"; an astonishing science-fiction epic filled with action, intrigue, drama, espionage, humor, incredible monsters and a profound conclusion that can't be missed!
Artist Eric Henson (The Perhapanauts: Danger Down Under) got his start in comics by being discovered in Stan Lee's, Joss Whedon's and Morgan Spurlock's movie "Comic-Con Episode IV: A Fan's Hope". Since then, he has gone on to provide pencils & inks on several covers & issues at Image Comics (Danger Down Under: issues 2, 4 & 5) and Arch Enemy Entertainment (The Diplomat, A-51), but now he is bringing the world his first fully creator-owned title!
Me talking about EDEN on ComicWow TV!:
Want to get to know the creator even more? Just watch the featurette below:
Inker Michael Babinski has dominated the world of comics for years with hyper-clean lines and amazing attention to detail on titles such as Wonder Woman, Amazing Spider-man, Power of Shazam, X-23, Deadpool, Hulk vs Dracula, She-Hulks, Scarlet Spider, Justice Society of America (JSA) vs Kobra, Outsiders, A-51, The Diplomat and The Perhapanauts. Now, he is bringing his incredible talents to the world of EDEN!
Colorist extodinaire Stephen Downer is a seasoned illustrator, digital colorist and designer that has worked with DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Image Comics, Action Lab Comics, magazines across the US/Canada and just about anywhere you care to look. Some of his titles include Skyward, Hypernaturals, Lorna: Relic Wrangler, New Crusaders and Edison Rex. He is also the artist for Dracula the Unconquered. His latest coloring project: bringing the atmospheric, sci-fi epic EDEN to glorious life!
Serving as master letterer is Rich Woodall. Rich is a veteran writer and illustrator of comics; Johnny Raygun, Kyraa: Alien Jungle Girl and The Supertopian. Mutli-talented and innovative, Rich is also the Creative Director for SteppingStone Productions and Co-Founder of ArtistAlleyComics.com.
Co-Letterer and Chief Editor Todd Dezago is a comic LEGEND. This guy has written more issues of Spider-man than Stan Lee himself! So said Stan-the-Man about him during Baltimore Comic Con 2012! His writing spans well over 17 years and has helped shape the very universes of Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Image Comics and Dark Horse Comics (to name a few). His incredible work with the late, great Mike Wieringo includes The Sensational Spider-man and their creator-owned fantasty series Tellos, which premiered in 1999. He also co-created Young Justice with artist Todd Nauck in the 1998 oneshot Young Justice: The Secret. Some of his other work includes the 1998 mini-series JLA: World Without Grownups as well as writing Impulse, The Amazing Spider-man, Thing/She-Hulk: The Long Night, Super Hero Squad, Astonishing Spider-man, Cable, Doctor Strange: Sorcerer Supreme, Excalibur, Marvel Adventures: Spider-man, Generation X, Marvel Age: Spider-man, New Avengers, Scarlet Spider, The Spectacular Spider-man, Spider-man Family, Web of Spider-man, Wolverine: Killing Made Simple, Wolverine, Essential Wolverine, X-Factor, X-Men: Unlimited and much, much more (way too many to list)! As if that weren't enough, he is also the co-creator of the cult hit The Perhapanauts at Image Comics, and he is now the "Godfatherly Shepherd" of this series; EDEN!
Creator(s) Summary---Writers: Eric & Jamillah Henson, Penciler: Eric Henson (The Perhapanauts: Danger Down Under), Inker: Michael Babinski (She-Hulks, Wonderwoman, The Amazing Spider-man), Colorist: Steve Downer (Lorna: Relic Wrangler, Skyward), Letterer: Rich Woodall (Johnny Raygun, Zombie Bomb!, Kyrra:Alien Jungle Girl)--with Editing, Design and Lettering assists by Todd Dezago (The Amazing Spider-man, Tellos) and Christian Leaf (The Perhapanauts: Danger Down Under).
We'd love your support, and that's where Kickstarter comes in...
While I've already penciled all of issue #1 and most of issue #2, there are still some pending costs that we will need your help on. Thusfar, all costs have been out-of-pocket and needless to say; funds are dwindling, my friends. In order to complete this book we will need your generosity. Without YOU it won't happen!
What Your Support Does: All money raised will go directly toward EDEN production & promotion costs and to give backers some awesome rewards! Production & promotion costs include:
- Paying the Inker
- Paying the Colorist
- Paying the Letterer(s)
- Paying the Graphic Designer (logo/info)
- Paying the printing & shipping costs of posters
- Paying the printing & shipping costs of prints
- Paying the printing & shipping costs of t-shirts/mousepads
- Paying expenses for other promotional materials (muti-media, etc)
What We Hope: For this book to be a hit we've got to get the word out! If this campaign is successful, you'll be helping us make the first issue of the 4 issue mini-series. However, if this campaign raises more than the first issue's goal then all additional money will be used to produce the next 3, action-packed issues of EDEN's first arc (specific "Stretch Goals" are listed below)! Moreover, if the giving keeps going strong and we exceed the production cost of the first 4 issues, we will use the additional funding to keep EDEN going as a ONGOING, MONTHLY series as well as to increase the quality, quantity and variety of YOUR rewards! With the long-term goal being a monthly series--we're already working hard on completing the first 4-issue arc. Following the funding of this project we'll be announcing a publisher that will help us package and distribute our comic to the masses. Stay tuned because the annoucement is going to be HUGE!
Our Humble Plea: Once again, since this book is 100% creator-owned, there's no publisher's financing whatsoever. This comic will greatly be made possible by YOU. Our Kickstarter goal is enough to complete the first book and get a copy of it on the shelves and in your hands as early as 2014! So if you enjoyed our past work, support creator-owned comics, want to see EDEN become a reality or if you just want to support that guy from the Comic-Con movie, we have some great rewards for you!
Reminder: You're only charged if we make our funding goal of $3000!
Note: Click the project video for more page samples! All pages below are pending colors and letters! Thanks!

Some industry vets have already gotten previews of issue #1 and had this to say:
"Just STUNNING! It just looks gorgeous as it unfolds, unspools and I can see so much drama in the expression and the body language of each of the characters--that the story is real and very much a vital and powerful thing! This will be the first of a long library of epics that people will remember for generations to come!"-- Todd Dezago (Writer: Spider-Man, TELLOS)
"WOW! Eric has stepped up his game to a whole 'nother level with EDEN and it keeps getting better... This is one series not to be missed!" -- Craig Rousseau (Artist: Ironman and the Armor Wars, Spider-man Loves Mary Jane, Captain America and the Korvac Saga)
Note: Images of the T-shirts/Mousepads will be made available soon. Shirts will come in S, M, L, XL, XXL and feature the cover art from issue 1 (shown above except it will be available in color) or promo art featuring the characters depicted on the cover. More images to come!
Risks and challenges
The EDEN team is confident we'll deliver a book that you really enjoy and is on time. Most pledge rewards have a delivery date of December 2014 just because we want to allow room to complete the entire series prior to launching issue #1. This will give the publisher/distributer and YOU the ability to rest easy knowing the entire mini-series is complete from day one and each issue will ship ON TIME. We don't like delays in a good story. We also don't actually foresee it taking until December 2014 to have the series released and rewards mailed out to you. We are just stating it as a possibility. Therefore, pledge with confidence: the first issue is already written and drawn! Post-production with inks, colors and letters is underway by a team of seasoned professionals. We're also familiar with producing all the rewards and getting them out in a timely manner. This being a "creator-owned" book, it requires the team mentioned above to complete the project. So if an emergency were to arise, it might cause a minor delay. But we don't anticipate that happening; moreover, I'm already working exclusively on EDEN--so, apart from financing, it's pretty much a done deal!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
