Howdy Sunbreakers!

As many of you may already know, we've officially launched Buddy & Me on Google Play, for $0.99. We've also simultaneously dropped the price to $0.99 in the two other stores, iOS and Amazon. If you haven't had a chance to play the game on Android yet, or know someone that's been waiting for it to arrive, let them know the moment has arrived!

Other than finishing up the Art Book design (almost there!) and a couple remaining updates we wanted to share, we're getting pretty close to the end of a wonderful journey that we're so happy you could take with us. It hasn't been easy, and we know there have been some disappointments, but I hope everyone can share in how amazing it feels to see an idea like Buddy & Me come true with the help of our family, friends, and fans. Thank you for believing in us!

One Last Favor

As we'll discuss in an upcoming summary of our Kickstarter journey, at Sunbreak we've certainly pushed ourselves to the limit, stretching beyond our budget to overcome unexpected obstacles, to keep our promise and deliver the Android build to our Backers no matter what.

We don't have a marketing budget for the Google Play launch of Buddy & Me, only the good word of its players and fans. If you can take a moment to help us spread the word, we'd appreciate it!

Every time someone new picks up a copy of the game or writes a nice review, it makes it more likely we can keep improving the game, and make others like it in the future.

Coming Up: Life After Launch

After the excitement of our Google Play launch has died down, we'll still be working on things, bit by bit. We've got two major Kickstarter posts we'd like to share soon:

  • How Buddy Came To Be: The design process behind the character of Buddy.
  • Kickstarter "Post-Mortem": Reflecting on the process, the ups, the downs.

At Sunbreak, how our Google launch goes will in many ways help determine what happens next as a studio. But regardless, we're making preparations, and looking for partnerships to help us reach more customers.

We're also working on setting up a Store on the website, so that fans can purchase t-shirts, prints, calendars, and other Buddy & Me goodies. And yes, we're still talking about a Nintendo version, but... now more than ever, funding is the challenge.

For the game, I'm excited to say that we're ALREADY working on some new features! As of today Brennan started prototyping a new player obstacle, plus we're tinkering around with a variation on one of our characters... and it sure would be nice to have something to do with all those stars everyone's been collecting. :)

We're going to keep things vague until it's a little further along... but needless to say, we're not done with this game yet!

As always, feel free to contact us with comments, questions, suggestions, or support!

Take care,

Jason Behr

Oh, and a future advice: when you offer a signed postcard, please sign it on the front with marker. I wanted to put it framed onto my wall :-(

Hmmm, haven't gotten my Android buddy and me, is there a chance to easily get it through the playstore?
