About this project
How do I pick my size in the order?
What can it repel?
What can the fabric resist?
Our shorts are resistant to all water based substances including coffee, soda and fruit juice. This also means it's resistant to any forms of staining you would receive from said liquids.
Is it a topical coating?
Definitely not. The fabric we use has a hydrophobic nanostructure inside the actual fabric itself, making it breathable and completely safe for use. We are currently the only swimwear company on the market using this hydrophobic nanotechnology fabric. This fabric has proven to drastically reduce dry-times by up to 95% in contrast to regular 100% polyester swim shorts.
Is it safe to use Hydrophobic Nanotechnology on clothing?
Yes, we use a fabric that is PFOA, DEHP and DINP free, making it soft to the touch and completely safe for use.
How long does the Hydrophobic Technology last?
The Hydrophobic technology will last the entire life of the shorts. We have tested the garment in chlorine and salt water and they have no effect on the Hydrophobic Nanotechnology Fabric the shorts are made out of. Washing your shorts will also not deteriorate the longevity of the hydrophobic nanostructure. These shorts were designed for being submerged underwater for long periods of time and have shown no loss of hydrophobic capabilities.
What happens to the inside of the garment?
Both sides of the garment are Hydrophobic and will perform equally on both sides.
How long are the shorts?
The shorts are 17 inches in length and are designed to sit just above the knee on the average male.
Where is it made?
The shorts are manufactured in Italy with Swiss Fabric.
Are they washable?
Yes, they should be washed with like colours and there is no need to iron or dry clean them. The Hydrophobic Nanotechnology is not affected by any form of washing and will not deteriorate.
Where did you get the idea?
We were tired of having to change shorts every time you leave the beach, having car seats soaked and not being able to go from the beach to a restaurant. We decided to look at different topical applications for use but shortly found out they changed the texture of the fabric and had no way of being used on garments. We decided to scrap the idea and look for the perfect alternative. We found the leading textile manufacturer who specializes in high performance nanotechnology fabrics operating out of Switzerland, and focused extensively on creating the most visually appealing and scientifically advanced pair of swim shorts in the world.
Do you have a website?
We have built a close relationship with our swiss textile mill and have sample shorts already made in their ready to ship form. The factory in Italy is ready for production, all we need is your pledge to meet the minimum order requirement. After the pledging has completed you can expect your shorts to arrive between the last week of June or the first week in July depending on your location.

Risks and challenges
The toughest challenges we have faced were trying to combine innovation and practicality into our shorts while simultaneously keeping them safe to the user. All of us searched high and low for a fabric that could satisfy this criteria that we needed it to pass in order to deliver a high quality dependable short. Our current design is the third generation of shorts after scrapping previous designs because they did not meet our standards of comfort, practicality, durability and aesthetic appeal which our current design possess. We have also tried to minimize Kickstarter customer risk by developing a relationship with our Swiss fabric mill and Italian manufacturer so we can have the ability to ship out our shorts as fast as possible for customer satisfaction. Everything is set to go, we just need your help Kickstarter to launch Frank Anthony into the global market.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
