THE HISCORE ENGINE PROJECT
AN ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION TECHNOLOGY
Project Ambition: Commercialisation and global introduction of our unrivalled engine exhaust emissions (GHG/CO2) saving HiSCOrE Engine - an environmentally-friendly green engine technology.
Campaign Objective: To raise the necessary first stage capital to build and test our NextGen HISCORE engine creation which is based on a previously proven lower powered engine.
With vehicle GHG/CO2 polluting emissions highly contributing to global warming and climate change, the HISCORE is an engine whose time has come - a global pollution solution. Pollution tackling technologies such as the HISCORE Engine are desperately needed. Help make the HISCORE introduction happen for the good. We need to get it on the road, literally. We must positively act to reverse pollution for the benefit of our plant because, THERE IS NO PLANET B !!
Our aim is to for our efficient, low emissions HISCORE Engine technology to supersede the inefficient highly polluting internal combustion engine. The introduction of our HISCORE Engine will start the reverse of pollution being caused by internal combustion engines (on road and off road engines), particularly by the trucking industry, a major global polluter, and our first target market. There are millions of heavy trucks around the world (in the USA 3 million) and more hitting the road each day = increasing pollution - this has to be arrested. The silent running feature of the HISCORE Engine also uniquely delivers zero noise pollution.
HISCORE Engine can be aftermarket retrofitted in owners' trucks (the prime business) and/or installed in new. Pollution reverse starts immediately our first HISCORE engined truck commercially hits the road. This could be as early as around the end 2015 or early 2016 all going smooth and well with funding.
We have designed our next-generation, Gen-3, HISCORE-1600 450hp model (evolved from the previous built and tested 100hp Gen-2 model), as a base model, specifically for this truck target market. First technical stage of the 1600 model is the working prototype build and test, proof of design - the reason for our funding appeal. Our goal is a minimum of AUD 1,500,000 for this work.
Project co-founders (the Principals): Captain Alan Thom, Corporate and Commercial Affairs | Walter R. Reed, Chief Technical Officer. Walter is the intellectual property owner of the HISCORE Engine.
The HISCORE-1600 engine has been designed by a highly qualified and creative engineering team led by Project co-founder Walter Reed who will lead/manage the 1600 model prototype build work.
The Project (Mother) company, that will be formed after funding completion, will be registered as 'HISCORE Engine Systems Pty Ltd', an Australian private company. The Company will hold the intellectual property rights of the HISCORE and the international patents. A global network will be established for global introduction coverage of the HISCORE particularly in the USA and Europe, China and India.

THE HISCORE ENGINE OVERVIEW
The HISCORE Engine Project has been formed expressly for the commercialisation of our engine. Firstly, we are targeting the high diesel fuel burning and consequently high GHG/CO2 emitting heavy-duty truck transport sector, a major global polluter (these are the big trucks that haul trailers, see photo below). Starting with the Generation-3 HISCORE-1600 450hp model (H-1600) Engine System which is an improved version of the previous test-proven 100hp engine model. The 450hp power engine is common in heavy trailer-hauling trucks around the world, so is a global (market) product by design. This power engine model is also suitable for marine (boat) and aviation (aircraft) applications...as well, for power generating (gensets) application. Multi applications.
The efficient HISCORE-1600 is an internal combustion engine (ECE) designed to, and will supersede, the inefficient, high polluting internal combustion engine (ICE). Its design attributes and performance makes it a unique and unrivalled engine technology. Compared to an ICE of the same 450hp engine power, over the same route distance, the HISCORE-1600 indicatively can reduce diesel fuel consumption and thus exhaust emissions by better than 60%, and around 70% with natural gas. 100% emissions reduction achieved with renewable energy fuels (compressed or liquid air and bio-diesel). And delivers zero noise pollution. Fuel consumption savings of 60% = fuel cost savings 60% (savings $ amount dependent on pump fuel price) = HISCORE engine demand = emissions savings = healthier environment = smiley planet.
The HISCORE-1600 will be aftermarket (after purchase) retrofitted into trucks (that is the ICE is taken out of an existing truck and replaced with the HISCORE ECE), this is our prime business market - our aim is to replace high polluting engines with the low or zero emissons HISCORE. Retrofitting will enable quick implementation of the HISCORE engine into global trucking markets. The significant fuel cost savings achievable from the retrofit investment makes this a compelling take-up by truck owners - higher diesel prices (trend) = higher fuel cost savings. And/or supplied new as an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) product. The high aftermarket retrofit business potential (millions of trucks market) will ensure the HISCORE company's financial and commercial viability and long term business success to enable us to sustain our ambition of reducing global pollution from vehicle engines.
The HISCORE Engine will be a brand name and down the track we plan to produce and introduce our own-brand green vehicles and engine products.

Given the HISCORE is suitable for all classes of road vehicles - and as the HISCORE is scalable from palm size 8hp up to thousands of horsepower - think what this emissions-efficient vehicle engine technology can do for the world's vehicle pollution problem, China and India in particular for example.
THE HISCORE ENGINE TECHNOLOGY
The HiSCOrE, formost, is a 'High-Torque, Silent, Closed-Cycle, Orbital Engine. Unique steam-powered rotary-piston engine technology. A new fuel-efficient and low-emissions technology = a climate friendly green engine technology. It can also uniquely function as an open-cycle high pressure direct injection (HPDI) engine.
The HISCORE engine system applies long-proven closed-cycle steam turbine principles - it works similarly to the proven Steam Rankine Cycle concept as does steam turbine power except the turbine engine is substituted by the more efficient HISCORE engine. The HISCORE-1600 is an external combustion engine (ECE). Being an ECE it can use any fuel that can burn to advantage (price, availability etc). It can be dual-fuel (eg diesel and gas).
The working fluid is water. Super-heated water feed = dynamic steam pressure is generated from a proprietary HISCORE flash steam boiler (power plant) which drives the pistons, rotor and main shaft of the engine (the flash boiler is a long-proven available technology - we custom designed ours). The exhausted steam is recycled in the closed system with negligible water loss. The steam power plant provides only the amount of steam required by the engine for a demand workload at any one moment of time. No steam boiler is needed if the power comes from other expansion mediums of liquid air/nitrogen or compressed air (sustainable renewable energy fuels) = 100% zero emissions.
High focus will be on developing a renewable energy air-powered HISCORE engine. The 1600 model prototype engine will be tested in open-cycle with both compressed air and liquid air/nitrogen (renewable energy) power. The HISCORE company plans to develop the production and supply of liquid air fuel for its appropriate engine applications. Significantly cheaper fuel than diesel or petrol/gasolene. We expect especially suitable for the (light vehicle) automobile application.The UN has warned that we have to be off fossil fuels by the century end. HISCORE will play its part to achieve this objective.
The HISCORE 1600 450hp engine model is the third generation HISCORE, an improved proven Generation-2 100hp model which was an Award winner at the 'World Fair for Inventions' = Medalle de Vermeli and Gold Medal of Brussels.
The Gen-2 model (100hp) underwent thousands of hours of testing with no measurable wear on parts using no lubricating oil (the HISCORE engine does not need oil for its lifetime, it is self lubricating).
The HISCORE 1600 Engine and HISCORE Boiler have been completely designed by the Design Team and now at the next stage of building and testing. Its performance has been calculated by a Physics PhD.

WHY STEAM POWER
When water reaches 100C boiling point it turns into steam and expands 1600 times, the most of any medium known to man. Steam pressure is directly related to temperature.
The grandfather of thermodynamics, Carnot, was the first to realise that a temperature difference is necessary if heat energy is to be transformed into work. This discovery called “Carnots Principle” is the basis of the second law of thermodynamics. Carnot postulated a theoretical ‘ ideal engine’ one where there is no friction and no heat loss. He proved that the efficiency of an engine depended only on the temperature of heat input and the temperature of the heat that is exhausted – and that no other engine working at these two temperatures could be more efficient. But Nicolas Carnot was aware of practical engineering as well as mathematics. He Taught…”that attempts made to approach this result would be even more harmful than useful if other considerations were neglected”. Carnot proposed six conditions for a practical engine…he did not include efficiency. They were: (1) SAFETY, (2) SOLIDITY, (3) DURABILITY, (4) COMPACT, (5) LOW COST and lastly (6) FUEL ECONOMY.
In today’s world of harmful emissions, threat of runaway greenhouse gas effect and known finite reserves of fuel oil, we could change condition (6), surely with Carnot’s approval, to FUEL ECONOMY with ZERO EMISSIONS. For our ideal engine in the 21st century, we could add a condition seven (7) SILENT!
THE HiSCOrE STEAM DRIVEN ROTARY-PISTON DISPLACEMENT STEAM ENGINE
INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE AND THE HISCORE EXTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
There are three main environmental health threats against the internal combustion engine (ICE) and they centre around its fuels – pollution at sea-level, effects on global warming, and diminishing oil reserves. Environmentally, the ICE is flawed. It was designed for a narrow range of octane rated fuels. These fuels are expensive, they originate from oil reserves that are becoming more difficult and expensive to access and they are owned by overseas countries who control price and availability.
The cost of diesel fuel will increase in the medium term as crude oil supplies diminish – and in the short term, availability and price could well be affected by conflict in the oil producing areas.

HOW ABOUT THAT FOR AN ENGINE !
HISCORE PROJECT FUNDING
To date funding has been from the Principals and time and effort contribution of the other design team members over the past five years to get the Project to the prototype design completion milestone. Next stage is the build and test of the prototypes (engine and boiler) for which donation, personal sponsorship, funding is needed to get to this critical milestone. Once the working prototype(s) is successfully tested and proven, the next step commercialisation finance will be less challenging to secure (from market feedback). This includes financing from the Australian government's 'Clean Energy Finance Corporation' for which a Project Funding Application was invited, after funding eligibility criteria was met for low-emissions technology (subsequently lodged).
The funding goal is minimum $1,500,000 AUD to cover costs, expenses and disbursements (USD 1,260,000, pound 750,000, euro 9000,000). Any more pledged over our goal, over-flow, will roll-over and be applied towards the next stage funding of the HISCORE's development and commercialisation work. All the amount raised will be applied towards the HISCORE Engine's commercialisation and introduction - all for the cause. Any over-goal amount will be less finance funding we have to secure for progressing.
In our quest for funding we have leaned that the traditional finance markets do not care about climate change from global warming and what our innovative invention can positively contribute to help the climate by reducing vehicle/engine emissions, money is their only consideration - they have a phobia about new innovations and for this reason there are so many great inventions are unfortunately never realised.
Our Project therefore needs 'crowd power' to bring into life and fruition. We are asking for a minimum pledge of only A$10 (= about US$8, Euro 7, Pound 5), or more. We realise this is a lot of backers required for $1,500,000 AUD ), but we know there are the people out there in our international community that really seriously care, as much as we care about our planet's future health who will see the funding worthiness of our "making a difference" green engine technology.

Time line for the prototypes build and test completion we estimate at 12 months (less we hope) from funding completion date. Subject funding, we would like our demonstration truck to be on the road by end of 2015.

Risks and challenges
There are always risks involved with funding/backing any new invention. However, this is minimsed by the fact that:
1) The HISCORE engine concept has been previously proven, the Generation-2 engine won awards. The 1600 model is a simplified and improved version of the Gen-2 engine.
2) The flash boiler technology is long-proven technology.
3) The external combustion engine (ECE) is proven and accepted technology concept (eg steam locomotives)
4) Any original design problems that may arise during building and testing can be solved by the highly qualified design team engineers and/or specialist associates/consultants if necessary.
The HISCORE Engine Project is not a serious financial investment per se, and Backer contributions would come from personal affordable funds - like when donating to any worthy cause.
