We are raising money to produce "Reasons To Be Pretty" at the Savannah College of Art and Design. Completing my senior year here at SCAD, I am making my directorial debut with this comedy written in 2008 about 2 young couples. It is a contemporary story about love and beauty and how much emphasis we put into physical appearances when we are dating our spouse. The play is about Greg and an offhand remark he made about a female co-workers pretty face and his own girlfriend Steph's lack thereof. When Kent and Carly, their best friends, enter the picture, we see their relationships crumble and the four friends are forced to confront a sea of deceit, infidelity, and betrayed trust in their journey to answer that oh-so-American question, How much is pretty worth? This is such a powerful show that from the moment I first read the script it captivated me and with the help of a great design team we are creating a wonderful vision for the show. The show goes up May 28th and 29th in SCAD's Mondonaro theater and will serve as my Senior Thesis. it is a fully student produced, acted, and designed show that embodies everything we've learned and represents our passion for the theater.
