Mark Stern is a third generation movie theatre owner from Chicago. He has managed and owned theatres since 1976 and his family has owned movie theatres since 1927. His grandfather Henry opened up the first arthouse theatre in Chicago in 1931 called The Cinema which thrived for 40 years and his father Richard owned the Wilmette Movie Theatres for 40 years.
