My apologies for the recent lack of updates our upgrade of our manufacturing area has taken longer than expected, but is almost complete, still some sorting out and reorganising but once we are finished we will be left with a much more usable manufacturing space!
The good news - We have the first 3D prints using an ultra high resolution resin printer, courtesy of Eddie from Zealot Miniatures.
Its not easy to tell due to the low quality photo and the reflective red material, but the quality of the prints is simply astonishing! an order of magnitude better than anything we have seen before. With this new printing technology now available, the figures for the new Kickstarter will be superior to anything we have previously released!
We are soon to be taking delivery of our own 3D printer, which will allow us to create awesome printed components in house, speeding up the whole process!
42k stretch goal achieved! - We made enough in our Pledge Manager so far that the 42k stretch goal is unlocked, anyone who pledged at Shard Strike and above will get a free body guard miniature for Idaho Yoshida!
The not so good news - The scale/proportions of the figures shown above are not quite right, which means we wont be able to cast these prints and start production immediately like I hope hoped.
I will need to do some trial and error to get the scale/proportions exactly right, and then make changes to these figures and also others which I have previously worked on, this means quite a bit more time sculpting than I anticipated.
The 3D printer delivery is also a bit behind schedule - I originally expected to have received it by now, but it may be another week, and once we have it it, assuming no problems, it will take a while to calibrate it, figure out how to use it best, and start producing the best possible prints.
What this all means is that we are realistically, about a month behind schedule.
I did factor in some extra time in my original estimate, so the current plan -
December - Finish Forge upgrades, get 3D printer up and running, get at least some figures in production.
January - complete all the CAD work and get everything from the basic pledge levels in production. Start shipping smaller reward packages at the end of January if possible. Start experimenting with vehicles.
February - Get everything into production - Our aim is still to ship the majority of the rewards by the end of February but for Cataclysm backers and people with lots of Add-Ons, (particularly the APC and Instigator which are more complex) the shipping date may slip.
March - Complete shipping and start working on the Rules and Missions. I have chosen to delay further work on the rules, so I can prioritise the miniatures. That way you can have your forces assembled (and painted?) by the time the rules are ready!
We will of course work as hard as possible to stick to our goal, and keep you fully updated!
Thanks again for your patience and continued support!
