Hey everyone!  

Many potential backers in private messages have asked for more detail regarding gameplay, here it is, one of many ways to spend your day in Lords of Discord.

Once spawned on the level, the player sees only their Citadel in front of them and some space around. The rest of the map is covered with the fog of war. What does the player need to do first? First they should decide what will be their main squad, i.e. the squad which will carry out the main military tasks: destroy the enemy heroes and powerful monsters and maybe, even occupy the hostile Citadel. 

While the player is recruiting their first soldiers, they must think in advance about the strategy of development of the squad. The units of the squad will not be able to gain new levels of development if the player doesn’t build the correct building. To construct a new building, the player will need gold, and each new building requires more gold then the previous one. Moreover, the troops need to gain enough experience, and it’s limited on each map by the number of monsters on it.

So, the player has recruited a squad and their hero leaves the castle. First of all they needs to destroy several weak monster squads, so their recruits can gain enough experience and turn into more powerful ones. The second thing is to take care of the resources. The main ones are mana and gold. The gold and mana mines will bring income only if the land they are found on is the property of the player’s race. The lands of the Empire are covered with green forests and blooming flowers while the territory of demons is scorched and has only skeletons of trees instead of the bygone flora on it. The player can conquer the territory with the help of a special hero using terramorphing. 

As soon as the source is on the occupied land, it starts to bring income and stops supplying the enemy. So, if the player manages to conquer all sources on the map, they will bleed their enemy dry and leave them with no gold to recruit new troops, or mana to cast spells. Such actions as elimination of the monsters on the map, capturing of cities, purchasing of goods in shops (or robbing them with the help of thieves) also denies the enemy an opportunity to develop, and makes them weaker by comparison. After elimination of the enemy, the player can start to fulfil the main quest or minor tasks. They can also investigate the map, gather all the artefacts and goods. Nobody will stop them now…

What unnatural magic made these bones rise from the ashes? Don't spend time pondering the answers, his bony hand is swift and his rusty sword is still sharp enough to eviscerate. Fight and survive, or die and enter the army of the undead!

      Support, a fixed number of monsters - not very good. I think the game will be more interesting if the global map in random monsters will appear at various levels.
      For example: a player broke the all powerful monsters in the Army AI - Team victory is inevitable, potomochto AI will hire Lords with weak monsters ( entry level ) and not be able to resist the player. And if on the global map will periodically appear neutral monsters ( entry-level ) that AI will again pump their lords and present a real threat to the player to feel relaxed . Play will be interesting to prtyazhenii the mission.

      Поддерживаю, фиксированное количество монстров - не очень хорошо. Мне кажется игра будет интересней если на глобальной карте в произвольном порядке будут появляться монстры разного уровня.
      Например: игрок разбил всех сильных монстров в армии AI - победа игрока неизбежна, потомочто AI будет нанимать лордов со слабыми монстрами (начального уровня) и не сможет противостоять игроку. А если на глобальной карте будут периодически появляться нейтральные монстры (начального уровня) то AI сможет снова прокачать своих лордов и представить реальную угрозу раслабившемуся игроку. Играть будет интересно на пртяжении всей миссии.

      A good thing about Kickstarter is that you can give your feedback before it's too late :)
      We're considering all possibilities regarding numbers of monsters, we are ready to make changes where needed.

      Map will have fixed number of monsters. That is not good news as it will make the world barren and force and endgame. Monsters spawn in Warlock: Master of the Arcane, Fallen Enchantress and even barbarians in CIV. Please reconsider this.
      I want a spell that puts a crack in the earth where demons come from. I want to put that spell right next to my enemy`s capital. :)
