THE PROJECT INNA jam is building a commercial kitchen! After a couple of years making jam in various shared commercial kitchens, we're so happy to find our own kitchen to call home in Emeryville, California. As you can imagine, building a commercial kitchen is an expensive project, and we need your help to acquire the much needed equipment. This includes: convection ovens, gas cooking ranges, stainless steel work tables, food-grade shelving, baker's speed racks, sinks, sanitizing dishwasher, lights, sheet pans, and much, much more.
THE IMPACT By supporting us you're not only supporting this small business and helping us to become more sustainable, you're also supporting the local community and economy, organic agriculture, and other artisan producers. Once this kitchen is ready we'll be able to increase our production, which means INNA jam will be creating more jobs in the local economy. INNA jam will also be able to buy more organic produce from local farmers who are growing food in sustainable ways. Additionally, this kitchen will be available for other small-scale artisan producers like us who need a kitchen to work in and make their products. This kitchen will be specialized for fruit and vegetable work and will provide a much needed resource in the Bay Area.
THE PRODUCT INNA jam makes fruit jams and spicy pepper jams from fresh, organic produce that's sourced locally within 100 miles of our kitchen. We don't mix fruit and we don't add extra flavorings or ingredients, so our jam tastes just like the fresh fruit. Find out more about INNA jam on our website and on our blog.
HOW DOES THIS FUNDRAISER WORK? This Kickstarter fundraiser is all or nothing: if we don't reach our goal, we will not receive any of the donations pledged and your credit card will not be charged. If we do reach our goal (and I hope we do!) your credit card will be charged on March 20 - the first day of spring - the day the campaign ends. To the right you'll find a list of rewards for different levels of pledges. Please help us make our dream become a reality!
MORE ABOUT THE REWARDS
Pledge $25 or more and you'll get your choice of 1 jar of INNA jam:
• polka RASPBERRY
• plenty spicy JALAPEÑO (our favorite)
• flavorfall PLUOT
WAIT, DID YOU SAY "JALAPEÑO JAM"?
Yes! Our signature jam is our "plenty spicy JALAPEÑO" - it's great for savory uses like meat or cheese. My favorite way to eat it is with crackers and cream cheese - it's totally addictive and how INNA jam started, and it remains our most popular jam!
Pledge $50 or more and you'll receive Perpetual Postcard Calendar, which includes 12 postcards featuring original photography. Since it isn't year-specific you can use it as a calendar indefinitely, or simply mail the postcards!
Your $50 pledge will also include an invitation to a behind the scenes tour of the INNA jam kitchen. These will be scheduled monthly during our production season June-November. We'll let you know of upcoming tours and you will be able to RSVP if you'd like to attend.
As a new, alternative reward for the $50 pledge you can now choose to get 3 jars of INNA jam - these flavors are delicious and so different, we think you should try them all! This is an especially good choice if you're not local to the Bay Area and won't be able to make it for a behind the scenes tour.
Pledge $100 or more and you'll be invited to our VIP grand opening party! See the newly completed kitchen, enjoy jammy snacks and drinks, and party with INNA jam supporters and friends.
As a new, alternative reward for the $100 pledge you can now choose to get six jars of INNA jam, including some of our limited edition varieties! This is an especially good choice if you're not local to the Bay Area and won't be able to make it for a jam-making class.
Pledge $100 or $250 and you'll get tickets to our jam-making classes. These will be scheduled monthly and will incorporate different fruit as the seasons progress. We'll let you know of upcoming classes and you will be able to use your class ticket to RSVP to the jam-making class of choice.
Pledge $1000 and we'll name one of our six jam cooking ranges in your honor! We'll send you a 4x4" photo of it mounted on aluminum so you could put it on your wall or fridge. You'll know that we are totally fired up about your support and are cooking lots of jam thanks to you!
Pledge $2500 and we'll name one of our two convection ovens in your honor! We'll send you a 4x4" photo of it mounted on aluminum so you could put it on your wall or fridge. You'll know that we are totally blown away by your support and are processing lots of jam jars thanks to you!
SO HOW DID INNA JAM START? This whole thing started one Thanksgiving a few years back when I came across something I’ve never seen before. Some friends were serving these amazing little appetizers – crackers topped with cream cheese and jalapeño jam. Well, I thought those little appetizers were just the best thing ever and proceeded to eat so many of them that I couldn’t really eat the Thanksgiving meal that followed.
I thought to myself, “self, I’ve got to get some of that jalapeño jam”, and checked every store I could think of, but alas no jalapeño jam to be found anywhere. I finally gave up on finding it at a local store and decided to just make it myself from scratch. I developed a recipe, made a batch of jam, kept a jar for myself and gave the rest away to friends and neighbors. Everyone who tasted the jalapeño jam got hooked, much like I did, and asked for more. Before I knew it, I was making batch after batch of jalapeño jam - and INNA was born.
Thank you so much for taking the time to learn about this fundraising campaign and INNA jam! And thank you, deeply, truly, for all your support - financial and otherwise. Please get in touch if you have any questions or suggestions: dafna@INNAjam.com - I'd love to hear from you!
