Momafire is a 20' high round wood structure with a 10' diameter. It will contain nine propane flame effects (poofers). It is an homage to the architecture of SF-MOMA. At Burning Man 2012, it will be set on fire.
Funds contributed to Momafire will be used to finish the project. This will include materials for eight more poofers, eight lighting effects, video projections on the piece, pyrotechnics and fuel to be used in Black Rock City as well as transportation to and from black rock city.
The shape of the structure and its detailing creates an illusion that its cap is a circle. In fact it is a perfect ellipse. Visitors to the project will have a sense of its structure changing its shape during their approach to it.
The flame and lighting effects will be programmed to create a variety of poofer and lighting sequences. These eight flame and lighting effects will be set around a central "super-poofer", with a 1 1/2' diameter dump valve. for your pleasure participants will be encouraged to create there own sequences through out the event and possible pre event.
Momafire is a beacon celebrating the conservation of art with an impermanent structure.
