Go Fish Yourself is a simple yet devious card game that lets players inflict awkward tasks on one another - like forcing players to walk while grabbing their ankles or making players come up with as many words for “buttocks” as they can. Throw in some absurd rules that players have to follow for the entire game and things start to get really interesting, not to mention hilarious to watch.
We're launching this project on Kickstarter because we like playing games that are easy to get into and make us laugh. To us, nothing is funnier than seeing and hearing our friends do ridiculous things. But we also like games that stretch people’s comfort zones and allow them to be as immature as they can handle. This game was made for people who want the chance to be a little crazy and a little inappropriate while competing in various challenges.
How to Play
The game works like this. Everyone gets dealt some cards. The remaining cards are placed in the center of the playing area. Players then take turns asking one another if they have certain cards so that they can make pairs. Sound familiar?
Well, unlike that adorably uncomplicated game most of us played as children, Go Fish Yourself takes things a few twisted steps further. Instead of trying to make pairs for oneself, players must try to get other players to make pairs. Why? Because each pair comes with a set of challenges. The more pairs a player gets the more troublesome tasks that player has to perform and the more ridiculous rules that player has to follow. As more and more rules start to stack up, tasks start to get more and more difficult to perform and much more fun to watch. Whenever a player fails to perform a task or follow a rule, that player is out of the game. The last player standing wins!
We came up with the idea for Go Fish Yourself a while back because there didn’t seem to be a whole lot of games that scratched our particular itch. We wanted a game that let us be awkward and let loose. So we tried a few different ideas before coming up with a game that made players have to complete active challenges in bizarre and potentially crass ways. But we also had to make the game simple and easy to pick up because we have short attention spans. We played our new game whenever we could with friends and family and it sort of stuck around. After being told time after time that we should “do something” with our game, we decided we would. That’s how Go Fish Yourself came to be.
We decided to try Kickstarter because of the tremendous amount of enthusiasm that the community holds for games and creative projects. We’re huge fans of Cards Against Humanity and were inspired by their success funding a game that encourages off-color gameplay… exactly what we like. Kickstarter is the greatest thing ever and we’re thrilled to be able to put our project out there for all of the community’s awesome supporters.

Risks and challenges
We're prepared to confront some challenges. As we finalize packaging and refine distribution strategies, we expect some growing pains, especially if our dreams come true and we get tons of orders. Our game is pretty uncomplicated and we've been working with some great printing companies so we're confident that Go Fish Yourself will be in good hands. And because your rewards are just cards, a sand timer and the pretty boxes they come in, obstacles should be few and far between. We want our game to be in your hands as fast as possible. With your support, we can make it happen!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
