Hello friends, fiendscomic book fanatics, and fans of the 80's!
I am raising money to print my comic book.
I'm writing and illustrating a comic book series: Ground Zero Punk -a love story set in Washington, DC in the early 80's.
The first issue is already complete so you won't have to wait long to get your signed copy
The basic setup is: It's an alternative Rock and Roll love story from the fringes. If you fall in love, can you keep your friends as well? This is Clockwork Orange take on Romeo and Juliet with the crime undertones of Scarface mixed with mod and punk subculture.
Now, the goal of this project is to get published copies into comic book shops across the country as well as into your hands. I have spent the last year and a half of my life devoted to getting this project off the ground. The first issue is completely done aside from minor editorial changes. I have already started work on the second issue.
You can help by pre-ordering an artist signed edition of the first issue!
I want to pre-sell at least 250 signed copies. This should pay for the first print run and allow me to take out an ad in Preview magazine as well as a table at a couple of comic conventions and distribute issues locally.
If I can get 500 backers then I might have enough print the cover with an emboss and a pantone metallic ink. This will look great on a the shelf and attract lots of attention!
Anything over 500 backers is a blessing and will keep the project alive as I continue working on the second issue.
I have a website and a facebook page that I will keep everyone updated on the progress of the series.
The entire project should span 8 to 10 books with possible spinoffs telling stories about other characters in the series. After the entire series is done I hope to publish the entire story in trade, making it available in book form. The final desitination would be a 3D animated adaptation -and just think, you will have a signed copy of the first edition!
Help me make this happen and I promise you a story that won't disappoint you!
