The parts unlocked so far make these monstrous options available now!
THE FLESH GOLEM!!!
IN THE LAST 24 HOURS THESE GUYS COULD ALSO BE YOURS!!
Following on from our previous Kickstarter we have decided to start small... with our BIGGEST creations first!
The "Monsters of Underdeep" Kickstarter brings to life the larger denizens of the Underdeep like the hulking Bugbear Ironshield and the freakish Flesh Golem. The purpose of this Kickstarter is to bring the world of Morn to life and enable us to invest more funds into the designing and manufacturing of our core factions for our Underdeep game. We plan to release the first faction; Goblin-kind in Spring/Summer 2015, after we have fulfilled this Kickstarter.
The Monsters of Underdeep Kickstarter allows you to pledge toward the manufacture of our range massive 28mm scale, high quality resin miniatures. These figures are not for the faint-hearted with the average model standing at around 55mm to its eyeline.
This Kickstarter will begin with two of our standout creations; the Bugbear Ironshield and the Flesh Golem. The Bugbear will be part of the Goblin-kind faction, whilst the Flesh Golem is part of the Abominations faction.
The Bugbear Ironshield
A metal-clad behemoth used to protect the tunnels of the Underdeep from intruders. They are most often found in the service of Hobgoblins who arm and equip these creatures, but their services are also used by Goblins who pay well for their singular talents. Things run smoothly when employing Bugbears, until the food runs out... then the problems start!
The Bugbear Ironshield is cast in high quality resin. He will form a basic BRUTE choice or can be purchased separately from the addon store for £18.
The bugbear comes in the following pieces. Only the shield, head and weapon arm will changes as these parts become available.
The Flesh Golem
The Flesh Golem is just a term used by the few that have seen such a creature and lived. The Paladin hero Gordric of Guil described one such encounter in his memoirs whilst battling the ancient Liche Priest Savos.
... the ground shook with its steps. Twice as tall as myself and immeasurably greater in bulk, it smashed aside the barricade we had thrown together and set upon destroying our forces. It was hard to tell its true shape... vaguely that of a man or a giant perhaps. Its parts were stitched and held together by wire, rivets, bolts and bone. One arm was that of giant bear or lion. It was covered in matted hair and blood, its claws like razors. It's other arms were finer, more humanoid and more numerous. I counted four in total, each wielding a cruel hacking blade that made short work of my men. I tried to engage the creature, to summon the will to fight... but my courage left me as I stared into the only eye visable to me through the remnants of an iron mask. I am sure to this day the mask was made with one thing in mind... to spare us all from the visage within....
Sir Gordric of Guil, Battle of Darkendelve 75 years before the Reckoning
The Flesh Golem is a basic BRUTE choice in the Kickstarter or can be purchased from the Addon Store for £18!
The Loyalty Head - The Myrmidon Helm
This added extra is FREE to all of those people who supported the first campaign. If you would like to purchase the Myrmidon Helm it is available to purchase separately from the addon store for the price of £3.
You want to pledge right? A little confused? I hope not. But I will try to explain everything in detail. The pledges are all very similar. They will give you a number of BRUTE choices to make when the KS is over, essentially picking the monsters you want from those available and the parts you would like to have with each choice.
All of the pledges above and including the Mega Bundle are considered Premium Pledges. Pledgers who pledge for these options will gain access to the free stretch goals. NOT ALL STRETCH GOALS ARE FREE! When a stetchgoal is unlocked it will clearly show what parts are free. The parts marked as free will be included in your final parcel free of charge and will be in addition to any other parts that form your pledge.
Here are some examples...
A Standard Pledge

With this KS the idea is that our stretchgoals will come thick and fast with, sometimes, as little as £750 between them!
Each stretchgoal will reveal either a new set of additional parts for an existing monster, or a brand new monsters to add to the pool available. Remember, as soon as a new part becomes available, you can pick it as part of your basic monster pledge.
Example: You have pledged for the BRUTE Pledge £18. For this you get the basic Bugber parts shown above. But if Head B is now available you can choose head B instead of Head A. Get it?
The first stretchgoal is shown below. It will be unlocked at £3750!
The stretchgoal tracker is shown below. As you can see we have many different stretchgoals to offer you including new an exciting monsters.
Welcome to the Addon Store!
This area of the Kickstarter page enables you to add to your basic pledge. You can add additional figures, parts and even pledges if you wish! Keep an eye out for updates that add stretchgoals to the addon store.
In order to add to your order, simply just add the value of additional parts or miniatures you would like to purchase to your original pledge. The current ADDON STORE graphic is below. This will be updated as more gets added.
Underdeep is a miniature war-game where players take control of powerful Overlords and their retinues of followers from deep within the Underdeep and its environs. In Underdeep only the cunning or the strongest survive. You will need both to ensure your future in the Underdeep is secure… at least for now. We will be releasing the Underdeep game in 2015 so you can use your miniatures in their intended setting!
Morn is a desolate world. Many centuries ago a cataclysmic war raged across the world. Man, Elf and Dwarf formed vast armies to combat the scourge from below, the armies of the Underdeep. The Underdeep had long been a source of conflict for the races know as the Sunsiders. Many rare and precious metals, stone and jewels lay beneath their feet and it was during these ventures that the two worlds collided. One world of light... the other of Darkness.
Eventually a dark entity united the squabbling races of the Underdeep and a vast host poured forth to take vengeance on the Sunsiders. The war lasted for fifty years. Nations were vanquished, Kings slaughtered and races brought to the very brink of extinction. However, the forces of light prevailed and the creatures of the Underdeep were forced back down into the depths. Now, hundreds of years later Sunside has still not recovered. The Elves have withdrawn to their citadels, the Dwarves have fortified their mine cities and the few human kingdoms that remain hide behind their enormous walls. The once proud kingdoms are now wilderness punctuated with small towns and villages with no one to rely on for protection but themselves. And once again evil stirs in the deep... The world of Morn awakens to a new day.
The sun slowly rises over the mountains and spills its golden glow on a land recovering from eons of war. Farmers till the land, shepherds tend the flocks and the good folk of the world grapple with the toils the day will bring. Deep below the surface world there is no dawn... only darkness. The Sunsiders think their lives are hard but food is plentiful, resources abundant and the dawn brings new hope. The Underdeep has no such hope...only the strong survive and the strong must fight for everything. The darkness holds many races, some pushed into the caves and dark places of the world by the Sunsiders, other races have always dwelt in the shadows. They vie for supremacy, King versus King, tribe versus tribe, clan versus clan. The only thing that unites these creatures is their lust for conquest, their need for revenge on the surface world. That day will come, but for now they must battle for control of the UNDERDEEP.
Postage is always a contencious issue when it comes to running a KS. We are lucky in that we have a major UK distributor with channels across Europe and North America to help us. However, we have not been able to offer free postage to everyone. Most of the resin figures we manufacture are light so we are happy to offer the discounted postage rates to the US/EU and to the ROW as shown on the pledge levels.
When you pledge and you are overseas you will be charged the basic level of shipping for that item. This overseas charge is for Europe and the US only. All other areas will need to add the extra funds as highlighted by the individual pledge you have picked.
Risks and challenges
As with most projects there are some risks and challenges that can beset a project like ours. The two main areas of importance for me are the following:
* QUALITY OF SERVICE
* QUALITY OF PRODUCT
As a buyer of miniatures, boardgames, rpgs and other table top games over the last 25 years I understand what makes a quality product. The main reason we decided to work with Zealot Miniatures for the casting was down to quality. I was given cheaper options but I wasn't happy with the production quality of the finished article I had seen elsewhere.
We would hope to have the majority of the models out to customers by April 2015 at the latest but speaking with Zealot (and taking into account the conclusion of their own Kickstarter) we have opted for May 2015. Both myself and Zealot feel we can make this deadline. We plan to do a weekly/fortnightly update newsletter after the KS has funded to keep you abreast of the situation, decisions we have made and to show you photos of the development of the models both in regard to sculpting and their manufacture.
I am 100% sure you will be 100% happy with the product on delivery! We do not plan to be a flash in the pan, take your money company. We plan to be here for the long haul and we have plenty of ambitious projects up our sleeves including the following factions for UNDERDEEP: Goblinkind, Zombie Abominations Lizardkin, Orcs, Drow, The Labyrinth, The Abyssal Realms, Gnolls, Sunsiders, Dwarven Treasure Hunters and many more... ...Not to mention our Sci-fi offering!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
