Minion Miniatures (Canceled)
Minion Miniatures is a fantasy miniatures production company who produce 30mm figurines in high grade plastic, white metal and resin.
- A breathtaking new range of plastic, white metal and resin miniatures to use in your wargames and role playing games.
- A fantasy tabletop skirmish wargame where the denizens of the underground world of Morn battle for supremacy of the darkness called UNDERDEEP!
- Two multi part hard plastic (and we mean real plastic) sprue sets for Goblins and Zombie Gravewalkers!
- The devastated and desolate world of Morn... The game of Underdeep is just a small slice of this fantasy world developed over the last decade. There is much more to come from the world of Morn!
The Minion Miniatures Underdeep range will be manufactured in high quality plastic, resin and white metal. The medium in which it will be cast will be clearly defined in each section along with the sculptor who has or will be sculpting the model.
We are working with several very experienced third party companies to enable us to get the highest resolution 3D prints for our miniatures. We will also be working with traditional sculptors as well for certain miniatures.
The Goblin sprues will be in two formats; a Goblin archer sprue and a melee weapon sprue. The melee weapons will be a mixture of swords and spears with shields. Both sprues have been designed to be used with a core set of 6 individual body pieces to enable you to make a large force with maximum variation. There will also be a variety of head options on each sprue,
The Zombie sprue will have a selection of cruel and malicious melee weapons like swords, sickles, spikes and other blades as well as the Zombie Gravewalkers formidable claws.
The Skulk is a master spy, assassin and scout. They are usually goblin outcasts that have had to survive in the darkness of the Underdeep without their tribe around them for security. They are also rangers of sorts. They know every inch of the caverns that they call home as well as having an intimate knowledge of the mosses, lichen and fungus found in the darkest recesses of their surroundings. They use this knowledge to brew poisons with which they coat their jagged blades.

Underdeep is a miniature war-game where players take control of powerful Overlords and their retinues of followers from deep within the Underdeep and its environs. In Underdeep only the cunning or the strongest survive. You will need both to ensure your future in the Underdeep is secure… at least for now.
Underdeep is a fast paced action miniatures game where players take control of an Overlord and his retinue of minions, champions, brutes and titans. These words are used to describe a unit type used in the game, each of which has different uses and abilities to help you win the battles you fight. The miniatures used are 30mm in scale and available in high quality plastic, resin and white metal. This is not to say that all of the models used are this size, it is just a measure of scale and reflects the height of an average human male from the soles of his shoes to his eyes. Enormous Zombie Hulks and Bugbears for example are much bigger than humans and although they are still in the 30mm scale, they maybe 50mm tall or even taller! It is up to you as a player to pick a faction that you like, collect the miniatures you want to fight your battles with and paint them to bring them to life! As an Overlord you might be a Goblin Chieftain looking to expand his tribe’s holdings or to increase his status within his tribe by leading a scouting force into the enemy’s lair. You could also take the role of a Lizardkin Khan looking to steal human slaves from an isolated farmstead or even an evil
Necromancer intent on forming an army of insidious zombies or flesh golems to wreak havoc on the denizens of the Underdeep and Sunsiders alike. It doesn’t matter why. All that matters is that your minions answer the call to arms and crush the enemy!!! One of the unique features of Underdeep is its “scale-ability”. This means it is viable to play with as many or as few miniatures as you would like. It is essentially a skirmish level war-game and most battles will utilise only 25 or 50 figures. However, the rules allow you to play with multiple Overlords each taking control of a Cadre of warriors. This means that battles with hundreds of miniatures a side is possible and is often an inspiring goal that many gamers hope to attain.
The best starting point, after choosing your faction, is to pick an Overlord. Battle parameters are decided before a game is played to define how big the forces being used will be. Most games will be around 250 points for a game that can be easily completed in an hour. Bigger games will take proportionally longer to complete. 500 points for example could take a couple of hours to complete but would allow a larger scope of creatures to be used. There are various points levels of Overlords available and their points cost is a direct reflection of how powerful they are on the field of battle. For example, if you were to pick a Goblin Chieftain to be your Overlord for 25 points his effectiveness on the battlefield will not be as dramatic as that of the Goblin King who costs 50 points! It is important to point out that Overlords are the most important unit in your force. Without them your force begins to fight less effectively and will lose much of its co-ordination. In some cases it can cause your army to flee field, so highly are they held in regard! However, this does not mean that you can protect your Overlord by having him hide away behind your must powerful units… Most Overlords have dramatic and potent powers that can only be accessed when in the thick of combat. That’s just the way it is down here… only the strongest survive.
Underdeep uses a randomised command and control system which means your battle plans have to be fluid and are often subject to change quickly as situations arise that you had not plan for. Tactically the game is immensely challenging. You will find the game easy to play and to learn but difficult to master. The aim of the game is to learn the best tactics to use and when, as what works against one enemy will fail against another.
So don your armour and sharpen your axe, call your troops to arms… the Underdeep awaits you warrior…
Morn is a desolate world. Many centuries ago a cataclysmic war raged across the world. Man, Elf and Dwarf formed vast armies to combat the scourge from below, the armies of the Underdeep. The Underdeep had long been a source of conflict for the races know as the Sunsiders. Many rare and precious metals, stone and jewels lay beneath their feet and it was during these ventures that the two worlds collided. One world of light... the other of Darkness.
Eventually a dark entity united the squabbling races of the Underdeep and a vast host poured forth to take vengeance on the Sunsiders. The war lasted for fifty years. Nations were vanquished, Kings slaughtered and races bought to the very brink of extinction. However, the forces of light prevailed and the creatures of the Underdeep were forced back down into the depths. Now, hundreds of years later Sunside has still not recovered. The Elves have withdrawn to their citadels, the dwarves have fortified their mine cities and the few human kingdoms that remain hide behind their enormous walls. The once proud kingdoms are now wilderness punctuated with small towns and villages with no one to rely on for protection but themselves.
And once again evil stirs in the deep...
The world of Morn awakens to a new day. The sun slowly rises over the mountains and spills its golden glow on a land recovering from eons of war. Farmers till the land, shepherds tend the flocks and the good folk of the world grapple with the toils the day will bring. Deep below the surface world there is no dawn... only darkness. The Sunsiders think their lives are hard but food is plentiful, resources abundant and the dawn brings new hope.
The Underdeep has no such hope...only the strong survive and the strong must fight for everything. The darkness holds many races, some pushed into the caves and dark places of the world by the Sunsiders, other races have always dwelt in the shadows. They vie for supremacy, King versus King, tribe versus tribe, clan versus clan. The only thing that unites these creatures is their lust for conquest, their need for revenge on the surface world. That day will come, but for now they must battle for control of the UNDERDEEP.
We have managed to discount our shipping costs dramatically to the US/EUROZONE and the ROW. We are offering FREE shipping to the UK!
Risks and challenges
As with most projects there are some risks and challenges that can beset a project like ours.
The two main areas of importance for me are the following:
* QUALITY OF SERVICE
* QUALITY OF PRODUCT
As a buyer of miniatures, boardgames, rpgs and other table top games over the last 25 years I understand what makes a quality product. The main reason we decided to work with Renedra was down to quality. I was given cheaper options but I wasn't happy with the production quality of the finished article I had seen elsewhere.
We have worked closely with Renedra to agree a tooling schedule, costs, and delivery times and I am 100% confident we will have the finished product by September 2015 for the plastic sprues.
The reason for the long wait is down to the production methods involved in making the tools (they are hand crafted not CNC made) and also down to the busy schedule of Renedra such is the demand for their services.
If you are not familiar with Renedra and the companies they currently produce miniatures for I suggest you visit their website at
Orders for Resin and metal models will be turned around a lot faster than the estimated years for the plastic sprues. We would hope to have the majority of metal and resin models out to customers by April 2015 at the latest. However, we will not split packages to enable you to get your resin/metal miniatures before your plastics unless you pay for the shipping.
We plan to do a weekly/fortnightly update newsletter after the KS has funded to keep you abreast of the situation, decisions we have made and to show you photos of the development of the models both in regard to sculpting and their manufacture.
We already have commitment from Renedra to give you photographic updates from their factory through each stage of tool making process.
Yes, you will have to wait a little while for your models. But I am 100% sure you will be 100% happy with the product on delivery!
We do not plan to be a flash in the pan, take your money company. We plan to be here for the long haul and we have plenty of ambitious projects up our sleeves including the following factions for UNDERDEEP:
Lizardkin, Orcs, Drow, The Labyrinth, The Abyssal Realms, Gnolls, Sunsiders, Dwarven Treasure Hunters and many more...
