Hello, everyone! My name is Rob Felty. I started FELTuL to design and create tools that have great functionality and are fun to carry. I hope you find the Eagle EDC multi-tool for cyclists to be just that. It is my first creation, so I'd love your help to get her launched! Thank you!
The FELTuL Eagle is a Grade 5 titanium, pocket-sized multi-tool designed for cyclists. At 19 grams (0.7 oz) with no moving parts the simplicity, size, and 11+ functions of the tool provide a vast range of utility. The features of the tool are catered to working on bicycles and they match up especially well on fixie and single speed bikes. If you are looking for a bike tool that won't weigh you down or protrude from your pockets then the Eagle is for you.
9 primary features (with at least 11 functions) include:
- 4mm hex key
- 5mm hex key
- 15mm wrench
- 10mm wrench + bottle opener
- 1/4" bit driver
- 0.140" to 0.130" Spoke wrench
- Screwdriver + Pry Bar
- Key loop
- Grip edge
- Length = 7.5 cm (3 in.)
- Height = 3 cm (1.2 in.)
- Thickness = 0.5 cm (0.2 in.)
The Eagle is currently in production at a titanium casting facility in China. The first batch of tools is scheduled to arrive at the end of February 2016. When they get here, I will begin shipping them out right away.
Note: All the photos and video in the campaign show the approved prototype I received from the factory.
Risks and challenges
Most of the challenges in creating the Eagle multi-tool were in the design process. With this behind me, the only challenge will be getting each tool into the backers' hands. I intend to utilize USPS Priority shipping envelopes, print or write labels for all the packages, and repeat until they are all sent. The worst case is that I take longer than desired to ship all items.
I will be inspecting quality of each tool from the factory. Any tools that do not meet the specifications will not be sent to my backers. In the case of missed delivery deadline or major quality issues from the factory, I will keep everyone updated and provide resolution options.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
