"Back in Time" is the 5th and newest full-length album by Generifus. Recording took place at Dub Narcotic Studio in Olympia, WA between July 2011 and May 2012. The album is engineered by the amazing Ben Hargett and produced by Hargett and Generifus' Spencer Sult. The drumming on the album is performed by semi-permanent member Spencer Carrow. Musical contributions were made by a wide array of Olympia area musicians including Eli Moore, Ashley Eriksson and Andrew Dorsett of LAKE, Markly Morrison of Skrill Meadow, Lazer Zeppelin and LAKE, Briana Marela, Miles Rozatti of Penny Dreadfuls, Jen Grady of You Are Plural and Dave Crager of Meowtain.
A Streaming preview of the album can be listened to on Bandcamp.
This Kickstarter aims to raise the necessary funds up-front to self release a run of 500 12" vinyl records, complete with full color packaging and credits/lyric sheet insert. Various other rewards related to the album are also available. The target release date for "Back in Time" is October 2nd, 2012, although Kickstarter contributors will have access to the digital version of the album as soon as it is completed, and be the first to receive the physical vinyl copies of the album, in addition to the exclusive unique rewards. Any amount pledged over the goal will go to promotion/distribution as well as touring (US tour planned for Fall 2012).
"Back in Time" is also intended to be the second release on a relaunched Sultan Serves Records, originally started by Sult to release "Solstice Songs" in 2008. With the capital gained from this release, future recordings of Generifus, our friends and side projects will be released by Sultan Serves in limited quantities on cassette and vinyl. Kickstarter contributors will have first access to information on all future releases.
The album won't come together unless I reach my goal on Kickstarter, so if you can, please spread the word to all who may be interested. Thank you all for taking the time to read this statement and contributing to the creation of new art in the Pacific Northwest!
