Paintings of Le Tour 2016:
I have been painting everyday as the race unfolds during the 2017 edition as it unfolds (which you can follow on Instagram or Facebook). Each day, I paint 5-10 images of the most important and exciting moments of the race. By the end of the three weeks of racing they will tell the story of the 'I remember that' moments. Once the race is over, I will paint the moments that I was unable to cover at the time.
What do you get?
Nobody who donates to the cause leaves empty-handed - to show my genuine gratitude, I will paint each and every one of you into the Kickstarter peloton (send photos to firstname.lastname@example.org and remember to tell me your favourite kit!)
I appreciate all support, from those who share and like my work all the way to those willing to turn their pockets inside-out to help the creation of the book. The rewards to show my thanks are outlined on this page on the right-hand column, and they consist of the following:

How will I raise the funds?
The original paintings from the 2016 race are currently showing in one of London's best-known bike shops/cafes: Look Mum No Hands. I post daily paintings to social media, alongside which I will run live-streams and post videos of me at work onto YouTube. With your help, over the course of July the goal is to fund the creation of the two books.
The cost break-down
The funding goal has been set with the following in mind: production costs of the book, the time going into making it, packaging and postage costs, Kickstarter and credit card fees, the rewards costs, cost of framing my work and creating the work. From what I have learnt from talking to other successful Kickstarter projects is that the delivery and rewards take up a surprisingly large amount of time and money. In my experience it is very hard to judge how much a project is going to actually cost and as a general rule, I tend to under-budget my work, so I have forced myself to leave a buffer for unforeseeable costs.
Risks and challenges
I will be painting these images alongside doing a full-time job. Although I will be painting at least 3 images per stage on the day/next morning, I will be completing the book in the months following summer once the Tour is finished and I have more time. I am self-employed, so if required I can take time off work to complete the book in a reasonable time (pre-Christmas).
I have created a hardcopy of Paintings of ‘Le Tour 2016’ using an online publisher. I am waiting to see the quality of the sample and have learnt a lot from the whole process of going from paintings into a full-on professionally formatted book. There have been many unforeseeable inconveniences during this process, so have given myself a buffer for the production and delivery of the final book. I want to reassure you that I will do everything in possible to bring you the highest quality product in preference of a excessively speedy delivery. I’m a one-man show and I really appreciate your patience :)Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
