About this project
Total with off-site funding: $4882.20 (last updated 5/5, 3:45 PM AKDT) Current off-site funding: $749.20
Our initial goal is Fishtank Fantasies, a coloring book of mermaids that follows Fishbowl Fantasies (sold out) and Fishpond Fantasies (still available!). This fabulous book will be 20 single-sided pages of highly-detailed, hand-drawn artwork. Like all Ellen Million Graphics coloring books, it is 8.5 x 11 inches, staple-bound, with a thick, glossy cover. Artists include: Samantha J. Decker, Karyn Lewis, Becca Moore, Mark Coyle, Jenny Heidewald, Nathalie Reinholz, Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, Anastasia Bisel, Kathy Nutt, Chella Reaves, Apis Teicher, Joanne Schempp, Tanith Larking, and Ellen Million.
This year, I'm upgrading our paper to a #70 white offset - just a little bit thicker and richer than the previous paper. It adds a little to the cost and weight, but is worth it! Like our previous paper, it works great for pencils or markers. I'm not making this a stretch goal, it's just part of my relentless pursuit of perfection! And unlike my last coloring book Kickstarter, I'm going straight to the color covers, because the black and white covers of previous titles were just not as eye-catching and awesome. (And I am all about awesome here at EMG...)
But the fun doesn't stop there!
After that, I've got six more books ready to go, featuring dragons, angels, and fantasy horses... plus three surprise solo books! Covers and content will be revealed as the Kickstarter progresses - you can pledge with as little as $1 just to get updates and see what gets revealed! (It will be terrific fun, I promise!)
And, now that we've fully funded on Kickstarter, I am accepting off-site payments towards our stretch goals! If you know someone who would be interested in these rewards, but who doesn't want to register with Kickstarter, have them contact me! I will be accepting payments via credit card or Paypal. (I will also be accepting wholesale orders towards our stretch goals!)
First Stretch Goal, @ $1700: Equine Enchantment *UNLOCKED!*
I think my favorite part of this book is that it covers all sorts of fantasy horses, not just unicorns. It's also got pegasi (big and small!), kelpies, a hippogriffin, a hippalectryon, a centaur, a magical, mechanical horse, a nightmare, and sunhorses. It features artwork by: Anastasia Bisel, Jennifer Broschinsky, Chella Reaves, Mark Coyle, Tallulah Cunningham, Nathalie Reinholz, Erika Harm, Jenny Heidewald, Karyn Lewis, Kathy Nutt, and Ellen Million
Second Stretch Goal @ 2500: Splendid and Scaled *UNLOCKED!*
Splendid and Scaled is a coloring book of dragons and wyverns, both Eastern and Western styles. Features work by Jennifer Broschinsky, Becca Moore, Mark Coyle, Tallulah Cunningham, Samantha J. Decker, Katy Jones, Teal Newcomb, Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, Anastasia Smith, Anastasia Bisel, and Ellen Million.
Third Stretch Goal @ $3100: Feathered Fantastic *UNLOCKED!*
Angels! Featuring the talents of: Holly Durr, Lorna Cowie, Afke van Herpt, Tallulah Cunningham, Mark Coyle, Samantha J. Decker, Anastasia Bisel, Kelly Ganson, Mitzi Sato-Wiuff, Jenny Heidewald, Kathy Nutt, and Ellen Million.
Fourth Stretch Goal @ $3700: Serenitrix *UNLOCKED!*
My own solo book, the third full-sized coloring book in the series! Mermaids, unicorns, magic, dragons, sea monsters, and more, all in my distinctively-detailed style. This is definitely a color at your own risk title. (It has a few favorites from out of print books, four from this year's collaborative collection, and more than half are exclusive to this book!)
Fifth Stretch Goal @ $4200: Fairies and Friends *UNLOCKED!*
A playful, beautiful collection of fairies and their friends, by Samantha J. Decker.
Sixth Stretch Goal @ $4700: An Alphabestiary of Clockwork Devices *UNLOCKED!*
This is a quirky, curious collection of obscure clockwork animals in a detailed steampunk style, by Tallulah Cunningham.
Seventh Stretch Goal @ $5200: Dragons, Fairies, and Fantasy Horses Vol 2
This book has been out of print for years now, unfortunately, and it would be lovely to brush it up with a new color cover and make it available again! It includes work by: Alice den Hollander, Carrie Hawks, Jenna Nilsson, Laura Melis, Erika Harm, and Ellen Million.
Eighth Stretch Goal @6000: Reprints of Steam Dreaming
With new color cover!!
The rewards start with a single PDF file. Every reward level includes this, and you can pick from any available title!
After that, you add full-sized hardcopy coloring books. Pick your reward level based on how many of these gorgeous coloring books you'd like! You may pick from existing stock or the new titles being funded. US shipping is included, International shipping is based on expense (and yes, it's expensive - I'm sorry!).
If you are interested in including a coloring book with limited stock, be sure to message me to claim your title.
Visit Ellen Million Graphics to see more details, thumbnails of more pages, and even free sampler pages to download, print and color. See the FAQ at the bottom of the page for current counts!
Each additional PDF is $6 - you may add as many as you like!
If you have any reward of $20 or more, you may also add mini coloring books for $8 each! These are each half-sized, just 5.5 x 8.5 inches, and have 12 pages of artwork.
Or, make your coloring book a complete starter pack with a 12-pack of Crayola colored pencils, and a simple pencil sharpener. It packs up gorgeously in a bag (included) with the coloring book, and can be added to any reward of $20 or more for $4.50 each. Add as many as you'd like!
Add-ons may only be 'added on' to existing rewards. Select a reward level, then increase your pledge from that level to include any of these extra goodies that you want. Physical add-ons can only be added to physical rewards ($20 and above). Each add-on includes shipping costs.
Now available: ALL-PDFs! This add-on is for any reward level, and will include all PDFs, no matter how many we end up funding. (Artists get paid full retail royalties for every title in this collection, too!) For newcomers, this add-on is $100 and will get you between 19 and 25 full coloring books, depending on how many we fund (PLUS the one you get with your reward level). That's a value of $114-$150!
Are you a returning backer who got the all-PDF pack last time? I've got you covered, too. You can get all the titles released since the last Kickstarter for $40. Between 8 and 14 new titles will be in your pack, which could be worth as much as $78!
See the FAQ below for a full list of the PDFs available.
The cheestastic video was done by Layla Lawlor, with writing, direction, and acting all the fault of Ellen Million.
Risks and challenges
This isn't my first rodeo!
I have been printing coloring books since 1997, and I am amply familiar with all that can (and inevitably will) go wrong with collecting artwork and getting it printed to my standards. With that experience under my hat, I have already done much of the legwork for this project: most of the artwork files are in hand (all of them for the collaborative books), contracts are filed, and I have a great long-standing relationship with my printer. I have streamlined packaging and printing - envelopes are all in my studio already, and I've got vendors and back-up vendors lined up for any extras I have in mind.
I am a Mom, first, and an individual (if amazing) person, so the greatest risk is the health of myself and my immediate family. I've given myself a month of wiggle-room, and I am extremely good at communicating, should there be any delays. You can check out my three previous projects on Kickstarter, or read reviews of my previous coloring books to see how people rave about what I do.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
