First of all, sorry for the long silence as we have been busy working like crazy to get the final product as great as possible. We have been tweaking dimensions, trying them out, building and polishing the design and didn't want to spam your inboxes with all the updates so here's a brief summary of the last two weeks.
After some minor modifications we have done a full trial production of the single Strawbees and these have already been featured at the NoVa Maker Faire this weekend. The single Strawbees will come on a re-usable stem like you see in the picture below and we think this looks pretty nice.
We also have had to do some last minute changes to decrease pressure in production for the multileg-sheets and are looking forward to our final trial run that will produce the "Try before you buy"-kits this friday. If all goes well these will be shipped as planned before end of March.
Because of the changes in layout we have had to redesign our packaging concept slightly and have gone through around a dozen prototypes. We are very close to a final solution so we should be able to keep our deadline even though the schedule will be tighter than planned. Here are some of the packaging prototypes without print, and also some single unit Strawbees on their new stem in all the colors that will be featured in the kits except white.
We will also be sending out a survey for the shipping addresses for the "Try before you buy" kits today, so please enter your address as soon as possible if you want to have them shipped in time.
The rest of the surveys will come out this week. You will be able to edit your address until 48hrs before we ship sometime late April but it's good for us to get an idea of how many countries to ship to and arrange shipping accordingly, so the sooner you fill them out the better.
Also we still have some failed payments so if you want your rewards please follow the instructions in the previous update and your email-inbox so you can get the stuff you pledged for.
Thank you so much for your patience and support!
