Hi, guys, we've been really busy, finishing the miniatures and prepping for the UK Games Expo. This is what we've been up to :)

UK GAMES EXPO 2018

This is our all time favourite show, it's big but with a friendly atmosphere and as always we got to chat to loads of people and show off our latest stuff. This time we had two demo games of Core Space on the go as well as a stack of terrain on special offer.

Even more people than last year but the stands were well spaced out

Each year we have more terrain to sell so have to get a slightly bigger stand, this time we also had a prime position as opposed to the 'by the bins' single table stand we first started with, back in the day. We also have a spanky new Core Space banner which you can spot a mile off.

Our intrepid volunteers, Drew, Paul and Debbie (heroes all) ran two separate demo games and barely had time for a breather for the whole three days.

Feedback for the game was very positive and we took all comments on board (if you played the game and haven't had an email from me it's because I couldn't read your hand writing! Drop me a line for your web voucher).

We also had our Core Space minis on display as well as on the two games, they also stirred a lot of interest.

We did a number of interviews including OnTableTop (Beasts of War with a new name).

.

You can also win one of our Fantasy Dungeons from Beasts of War. The dungeons always sells well at the UKGE, although it's mostly board games the show attracts a lot of RPGers and skirmishers.

Big as the stand was there still wasn't room to set up the Dungeon in all its glory.

CORE SPACE PROGRESS

We're really hammering along, aside from a few manufacturing tweaks all of the minis are done and will be handed over to our factory gretchins to start producing en masse.

The terrain is raring to go, the game components are nearly done and the rulebook is a beast that is being bludgeoned into submission. It will then all be manufactured, bundled together and sent to us via carrier pigeon (or, failing that we'll use one of those big boat things). We are still set for November but keep your eye stalks peeled for any changes to that.

Cheers :)

Wayne and Colin.

Definitely going to have to invest in some paints and brushes in time for November. It would be a crime for such an immersive game to use unpainted miniatures!

Thanks for the continued updates. It continues to look more and more amazing! You have found a way to get me even more excited about a project I was already very excited to see come to fruition. By all accounts it appears that things went well at the show (which is great). Keep up the good work and I hope things stay on track for November. The models look amazing!!!

I haven't painted a mini in twenty years, will that go against me? :) - Wayne.

@Wayne - at some point, you and Col are going to have to have a paint-off. Each grab a crew, and have a set time to complete them. Let us vote on the results.

fantasy terrain, huh... my (wallet's) greatest fear comes true.

Thanks to Debbie for the demo at UKGE. The game is looking superb and it was great to have a little play. Even in a short demo the strategy elements of reacting to the NPC activities really came through. It's going to be epic!

Yep everyone I spoke to at the show was stoked by the minis, we just snapped them quickly in the case... normally we forget to take photos cos we are so busy, but this time I set an alarm on my phone to remind me. lol

The terraijn looks absolutely stunning, and I can't wait to finally see it in person. However, I must admit that the miniatures don't quite catch me yet. Some of them seem to have quite unnatural poses, like the women in Yamato's and Weaver's crew, and overall I would have wanted to see more action poses instead of the many walking or standing around.

Granted, it's hard to see well from pictures, so I just hope it's not so bad when I have them in hand. Anyone who visited the show and saw them up close, or even held them, care to comment?

I'm sure we can sort out a painting guide. However, if Col's in charge it's very easy - blue... then brown :) - Wayne.
