The Arrival Bay has landed...
Its here, the new improved, better than ever Arrival Bay...
No sci-fi environment would be complete without a large docking/hangar bay. It's often the final conclusion to any good sci-fi film or game... and we have gone... BIG!

At the core of this are the mega structures of the Struts. Massive towering supports that rib the loading area and give it that iconic landing space for drop-ships and shuttles alike.

As you can see above the struts work really well. They are also great for hiding minis when the invasion comes.
If you have a large docking area you will also need those observation points. It's where the head honchos look down and watch the minions doing all the hard graft.

The large Observation ports give an impressive view of the loading and landing area and make for a really cool command room for that final objective location.

We are already giving you tonnes of scatter free for your set ups, but you'll need some unique items to help flesh it out so we have some extras included as part of the Arrival Bay set.
The Loading Platform is perfect for hauling all that heavy cargo around and its robot arm can be detached and mounted on any side of the platform. You can also clip it to walls and generally have fun with it.
Cargo, we need more cargo then...
We are giving extra cargo crates to give more variety to the standard red and yellow cargo included in the core sets. This one is also textured inside and has a removable lid that can be used in-game.
Finally, some Access Ladders...
These boarding Ladders can be maneuvered in-game. Access a shuttle, get to that top level cargo to search it, or use it to travel up a level when the stairs are blocked.
Its big, but it doesn't have to be...
You can make any size Arrival Bay you like. This really is super flexible. This is a big set up and covers 2/3rd of your game mat. Below are examples of builds you can make by removing the extensions on the hanger doors and struts.

You can actually go even smaller, but I forgot to take the photo. lol
If you like you can start messing about too...

This set works well with both the Frontier and Galactic sets, in fact, the big set up was built on a galactic base, we just mixed them together.
If you have only a Galactic set then we have already given you free Frontier walls in your Stretch Goals, but we will also be making more available to purchase as an add-on. This means you can take just a few more and blend this lovely big boy right into the Galactic set seamlessly. :o)
Finally, I could not resist the temptation to have some SW fun...

The Arrival Bay will be unlocked at £100K and is £20. If you like what you see add on the funds now to unlock it quicker :oD
More free stuff, are you sure?...
Oh, and did we say that we hit another Stretch Goal? No, well, we did here's some more free stuff...

That's it for now, lets get this funded and then it's more free stuff to come :oD
Over & out for now...

@Paul - you mean the "doorway" at the top of the stairs? I'm pretty sure that's just a wide hatchway.

@Zenon - it's on the campaign page.

Is there an itemized list, or am I missing something. Knowing me, it's in the next update and I'm jumping the gun....

Wow, looks great. I am wondering how many of these I might need. Do I spy some other items that have not yet been 'released' such as the large hangar door opening?

Thanks Drew & Battlesystems for the reply, definately going to add this to pledge.

Does anybody know which company sells those shuttles? :p :p :p

How about a star field mat, you could use it in other games too then. I'm using the Shanty Town mat in the pictures, just stuck a box under it to make a hill :o)

Small ramp maybe, can't fit it on that tool, but maybe on a future add-on it could have multi uses so I'll keep it in mind :o)

lol. I used 3 of those clips they are the same ones from the Urban range 130 degree or 135 I can never remember. Yep you will have plenty :o)
Capt. Dan on
Nice stuff but are we going to have enough 45 degre clips to fix all the big windows and do the regular stuff the is shown in the pictures ? or are we better get more of those 45 degre clips ? and can we get only those 45 degre one ?
David Gething on
Is there any chance of adding some sort of ramp to make the bottom of the entrance flush with the floor (inside & out), so it could function as a garage/hanger in a surface facility?
Ross P on
I'm going to print out a really good star field, attach it to card and stick it to the outside of the bay door opening so that it looks like the flight deck of a death star or something.
But I would also HAPPILY buy such an insert/add-on were it to appear on the kickstarter. Just saying ;)
Lovely work!

Minis is Mantic, yes you can remove the bottom part of the strut... or just turn it upside-down it clips in the same either way :o)

Wonderful add-on!

Guessing infinity or Mantic :/ seen a couple like thous in dif ranges
Michael Whelan on
That looks fantastic! Wondering where the mini, with the gun slung over it's right shoulder, is from? Does anyone know?
Jason J on
you don't have to use the struts, and if you wanted to you could always extend the front entrance sideways by a wall width either side before building the rest of the bay giving you way more space. (table area permitting)
.
might be cool to do exactly that if you created a game scenario that revolved around a battle in the docking area.
Drew ' Voyage of the Damned' Dockerty on
That's the great thing about it. You not required to use the struts, ladders, cargo hauler if you don't want.
Can't wait to do a few catwalk fighting duel above a Molten river within an industrial zone.

Struts are a bit intrusive on the bay area as is the stairway...but then again it is big.
